Only a hint. Did you check the small print via the downloads for Pocket PC on the Microsoft web pages? If you download from the regular OS pages they don't mention that certain Pocket PC generations are not supported. Welcome to Fixya. Serial port are not available on modern computers because they are using USB, Firewire, eSata connection which is faster transfer rate than serial cables. There are connectors or cables out in the market or local computer stores like usb to serial adapter that you can use to connect the Jornada 680

Befor installation you need to follow the following steps

1. Start your laptop and press F10 continuously to go to BIOS setup.
2. Go to "System Configuration" -> "Device Configurations"
3. Set "SATA Native Mode" to Disabled.
4. Start the installation while keeping a finger on "F7" key.
5. After some time there will be continuous beeps.
6. Remove your finger for sometime and then continuously press "F7" key till the beeps are repeated. This is done to disable your BIOS ACPI.
