Empty water light, empty condenser

I experienced the problem with a hotpoint TCYM 750, with the red empty water light failing to switch off. After removing the filter and cleaning it, cleaning the condenser and drying anywhere I had access to the machine still didn't heat and the light remained on. Reading the post about the machine having 3 reservoirs it struck me that one of the reservoirs may be hard to access. So I unplugged the machine and tipped it onto its front. The reservoir drained, I pushed the machine back upright and cleared up some water around the condenser. The drier now works properly and the empty water light is off - job done!

Tumble dryer black soot

IF you checked the belt and there is no apparent ware; then only bearings will give off a soot when they are going bad. If the idler bearing is misaligned, it too can cause this to happen.

Hotpoint tcem80c 6p not drying very quickly

Long Dry times tend to be caused by improper exhaust venting normal ventng should be 8 to 10 feet long max should be flexible aluminum or solid metal venting if length is longer than 10 ft solid metal venting is a must ! White Vinyl is absolutley NOT advised ! ! make sure venting is as short as possble with no kinks or crushed areas and also you have good air flow out of dryer exhast outlet before connecting venting after connecting make sure you have good air flow at outside of home.........good luck !

Will not start unless holding the start switch for minutes, sounds like a car that will not start

Sounds as if the motor is going bad. Soon it will simply buzz and won't start at all. It's the motor windings and the only solution is to change out the motor.

Condenser dryer getting too hot

It looks like from what you are saying that the heat sensing thermostat has stuck in the on position and is not switching off when up to temperature! I would obviously advise you not to use it because There is a serious risk of fire! The thermostat is most likely mounted on the rear or top of the drum inside it is not an hard job to replace it, but I would advise you replace with exactly the same part and get a competent person to do the repair for you. If you decide to repair it yourself first make sure it is disconnected from the mains supply and cannot be plugged in while you work on it! You can perhaps find the part number in the user manual , but failing that remove the part and take to an appliance repair shop for advice The following link may be of help in identifying the part and may also stock your part? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/THERMOSTAT-CUT-OUT-HOTPOINT-CREDA-INDESIT-TUMBLE-DRYER-KIT-RED-SPOT-/161012863189?pt=UK_Irons_Presses&hash=item257d1d50d5 I hope this was of some help? Ctd80 hotpoint dryer panel flashing dryer not working

Filter at bottom of machine needs pulling out and cleaned on a regular basis. This is a common fault and the lights is telling you to clean the filter. It is a large filter that unclips at the bottom front of machine. Remove two small screws from the front of the filter located left and right and gently remove the front plate. Once removed you will see a metal filter clogged with clothing debris. Clean with cotton buds and a damp cloth till clean. replace all parts and you should have it working once again with a good heat source as well. Every 2-3 months is sufficient to keep it cleaned. Hope this helps.
