the model number that comes up is DLL2650BPL you could have a bad igniter,gas coils or sensor but the only way to tell is by reading them out with a meter the igniter part number is WE4X444 gas coils are part 5303931775 and the sensor is part WE4X448 you can go here to see parts https://www.repairclinic.com/Shop-For-Parts/a8b95d49280/Model-DLL2650BPL-Hotpoint-Dryer-Parts if you have heat at the beginning and then no heat it will be the gas coils but one of the coils still could be bad and not work at all but check all parts with meter before you start ordering parts you don't want to change out good parts.

that isn't a model number,open the door to the dryer,look around the opening where you put the clothes in and send the full model number,

that isn't a good model number open the door,look around the opening where you put the clothes in and you'll see the model number,you could have a bad thermal fuse or another t-stat is bad,you have to get in there with a meter and check out the parts for continuity

if it stays running when you hold the button in or turn it on there's a belt switch that could be bad.it's a safety so if the belt does break the dryer won't stay on.it's just a cherry switch two wires go to it and there's a white button on it the the metal arm that the pulley attaches to hits the switch,if the button isn't pushed in the dryer won't stay on.if that's good you'll have to get in there with a meter and start checking t-stats.hope this helps you out.

How did you wire the 4 prong cord?

Strange. Heaters usually shut down with the spinning drum when door is open. If you check the schematic for unit you can check to see if in fact this is correct operation. Attached site usually has schematics for appliances. You might want to check. Search Over 2 1 Million Appliance Parts

yes............the 2 round bits are the thermostats.......these need changing in pairs.......not just 1 of them cheers

if you mean the condeser itself ...it just pulls out..........best way to clean is with a hosepipe gets all the fluff out....but.if you have water leaking...........best bet is to check the tank at the rear.....at the bottom of the base.....the tank operates via a piece of plastic or fibre which floats up as the tank fills.....which inturn hits a micro switch ...setting the pump going to pump the water to the empty tank........check the float first......... cheers

Had a defective door switch do the same thing

NORMALLY SIMPLY UNPLUGGING THE CORD FROM OUTLET FOR A FEW MINUTES WILL RESET IT. I SUSPECT YOU BLEW A THERMAL FUSE OR BAD DOOR SWITCH CHECK FOR 240 VOLTS POWER TO AND FROM THE OUTLET FIRST

The thermostat is bad and letting it heat up until it is too hot.
