Water will not drain out of dishwasher

trace it back along the outlet pipe and you will find on the pump a unscrewable plug be carefull as you are going to get a few litres of water over the floor

Hotpoint DWF31 dishwasher went bang mid cycle and mild smell of burning plastic. Still powers on, lights on correct setting but stuck at 77 mins with nothing happening. Water still inside. Any ideas

Sounds like you have burnt something. May have shorted out. Shut it down and pull the plug or could maybe cause a fire. Get a professional to look at it.
