to view on a pc you can use a usb cable. the free software available now, is rubbish. if you have an older pc with movie maker, that's the best option. or you can go for a free trial. https://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.html any loss of quality, you probably won't notice.

Check manufacturer web site for a manual and the software that should have come with the unit. Together they will do the trick. Also necessary is the special wire that connects the camera with the pc.

You have a faulty device. Time to replace.
