so are you connected to the interenet with wired ethernet cable to the router, if not, MS can not load the driver, 1/2 the time.
if not local found driver, then remote load fails, every time.
use the cable first. cat5/6
did you know old PCs with old wireless cards or chips for same
may not even have a driver for windows 7, any where on earth.
that is correct.
your post fails to say , what OS the PC came with, so now we must look that up for you (nice no?)
now learn that there are many 625, so which one is yours.
each one can have 3 different wifi chips.
https://www.notebookcheck.net/HP-625-Series.42913.0.html
it came new with XP, Vista or w7
32bit and 64bit.
so what did you have
and is the upgrade w7 64bit. drivers match 3 things
- your PC and its exact chip
- 64bit or 32bit.
- and your OS
if really savvy, post your service tag data, model full.
HP will ask you the same thing for the same exact reseaons
we cant see your tag. so all accurate answers are impossible'
unless, you get super lucky
and use that CAT5 cable and let MS try to update your missing wifi chip driver.
here is proof of the above, the HP offical w7-64 page
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-625-notebook-pc/4173277
see that it has at least 3 wifi chips used new.
you an load them all and the one that does not fail is the one.
or use the assistant (with cat 5 cable plugged in or its all just a waste of time)
run this. its magic, but can fail. as all magic can.
