what does it do when you don't have the battery in and turn on and put battery in ? usually a faulty battery will stop the laptop from turning on not the mother board. mother board has a safety feature to stop over loads. check this for me and get back to this question .

(hp told me)32bit is sp37325.exe64bit is sp37324.exeknowing that we can find it at hp fTP server.if you know the driver you need, by file nameyou can find it here, too. at HP.ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software9/COL22124/pv-58189-1/above is for legacy pc.. if the support page is missinghttps://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-elite-m9000-desktop-pc-series/3550541/model/3550542b7742118-54db-4768-8acb-8a1a73f585b2.jpg

None of my usb ports work on my hp pavilion

Try visiting HP's support site for latest drivers for your supported model? Also, right click "my computer" and select manage. From there, select Device Manager and look for any Unknown Device/Driver (yellow icon with ! mark). You might be missing/needing an updated driver for the computer to use the USB ports. Windows updates won't necessarily include the model/make specific driver. Note: please be more specific with HP model as there are several 4051 (entertainment model), along with version of Windows (7 (32bit or 64bit). Look for latest BIOS and update that, along with any chipset and storage drivers that might be applicable to your model. Welcome to HP Customer Support

None of my usb ports

dv7-4051 good clean full model # nice but no OS stated, we can not GUESS THE OS NO USB DEVICE STATED , at least say one of them.? USB is ENDLESS topic, 1000's of devices made from 16 long years. is it windows XP, the dead now, virus magnet? it amazes me the vast posts where for windows. there are 14 version of windows, back to day 1. hell some even run FREEDOS , heck HP even ships them new like that. (free of MS invasions of privacy this, popular in EU regions.) lucky you HP still has some support in this LT some came with windows 7 32bit. in USA. here is the page on my guess at OS. w7 https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-dv7-4000-entertainment-notebook-pc-series/4149935/model/4230565 see that, see all those DRIVERS> one is for USB (most times this is the base chips sets) but if w7 is true, is it, (or higher do this.) the MS way to fix this is far more easy if system is not corrupted or infected this works if not F11 restore it. be connected to the internet first CP control panel go there. click device manager, see bad devices(red or yellow marks) we fix those first. same way. this magic is called PnP plug and pray.(pun) plug in any usb device, a keyboard or mouse tops my choice or usb flash memory stick 2nd if the keyboard, works on USB< great if not do this. yes plug in any USB keyboard made or wired mouse to USB jacks pick one. lets call it USB UNder test, UUT you then see USB devices in the Device manager. you must stop uninstalling things, diagnosis is first. not guessing at random. sorry. photos RUN CP + DM (path of clicks) #1 see this, see its not missing see its not red marked or yellow bad. if its there, plugged in right click those and click update (magic pnp) ether the usb keyboard or mouse or both. forget internal LT keyboard. top-5pwpc4yvku1dej4b3igosgxq-3-0.jpg photo 2 this is really first. this is the USB chip hub inside your PC all PC have this, and again, must not be missing or red /yellow marked as bad. see this, same trick, right click them and update it. online only w7 and newer work now, MS shut down XP and VISTA. This is DM. window. (mines W10) see my CELL phone there.? bottom-5pwpc4yvku1dej4b3igosgxq-3-1.jpg recap: USB fails for these reasons, (chips USB not blown up)
  1. OS corrupted ,
  2. viruses
  3. loading wrong drivers not from HP or MS to your PC.
  4. using devices so old W7 does not know about.(obsolete things)
  5. using new USB devices MS/nor HP supports so go to makers home page and it that there, for example USB headphone MS does not support, next time name something?
eg> examples my USB flat bed scanner is now dead, due to no more driver support by any one on earth my head phones all USB fail. unless i get them from the makers. Best is to try any keyboard /mouse wired, and do that test first this is called walking before the big run.... do the easy first then we do the hard last. nothing is more complex than USB support, (expected) more, printers dead (very old ones) so next time tell one thing that fails, or all things. and WIN. by name and maker and model devices.

I need to reset the bios on a HP G62-435DX

Hi.The HP G62 does not have jumpers on the motherboard to short the CMOS/BIOS to reset it, all you can do is turn the laptop upside down and then remove battery and the memory & wifi cover, under that cover you will see a black, round penny shaped item with red wires coming from it. Follow the wires and unplug it. That is the CMOS/BIOS or RTC battery, leave both the main battery and the CMOS battery out for at least 10 minutes. Below is a picture for you to refer to.12_12_2012_2_34_51_am.jpgRegards.

I am trying to help

NO OS STATED by you, makes help impossible. (near) CQ56 (2010 PC) It looks like Windows XP is dead? that it? Or w7 as many had, it matter, due to the file structures are not the same. at all. the fix is easy if you have boot disk or cd or stick the dos command are easy to command, for fixing any lost boot files. what makes you think the HDD is even good. I'd not. not ever. the hp links are dead to this PC but using google site search the good is there still and tells you the F11 key works you boot the pc (turn it on) and hammer the F11 key and the recovery partitions run. if not the HDD is corrupted. the F11 key if working pops a recovery page pick startup files repair,. end story if the hDD is bad the story gets longer,.. the HP site tell me it was W7 new, (did you upgrade it to 10 free last year, we cant guess what is there or how it got there, see?) I run knoppix boot disk /stick and run disk test here http://pcdied.com/brick-dead.html#Knoppix recovering any OS this way, with a bad HDD is a wasted day. there is no reason to do that. run DISK SMART and TEST THERE. here are my recover pages. see startup repair, this fixes the file you said were missing. mine has and automatic repair option startup-settings-033ev5fxk2obj5u2llm5dinp-1-0.png

Hi,

no idea what you are attempting, this is HP forum, not Fujitsu, in any why. never ever post EMAIL here unless spam for 1000s years, is fun? wow, be bad that. connect a 4th monitor at the same time? tell each step, or show what you have there, we cant see you or it. my wild guess is monitor 4 is bad. but my inputs are weak there. test the bad monitor yet, on and other PC? be like wise.

HP dv6z will not allow restore to factory

hope does not matter only facts and realities. matter DV6z first off the model number is wrong. its DV6z-nnnnnnn like -1000 or ? and MATTERS BIG TIME, next time use the real model or all anwers for sure, OS reloads, is IMPOSSIBLE. you never told what OS is on it now, nor what it was day 1, new. if not the same then the F11 key is useless the -1000 had VISTA or W7 day new, as an option. if the F10.F11 key is dead, then the restore partitions are gone or corrupted, that means what, buy the CD from HP, The MS disk will fail to load all drivers and all HP apps so they you go. https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-dv7-1000-entertainment-notebook-pc-series/3744231/model/3747907 the HP disks are here https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07143 the two 3rd party disks are here http://pcdied.com/HP-OS-GET.html see all 6 choices here, it names all ways from sunday all ways not HP will fail in some way, The things that fail, will be, drivers, and HP apps. some drivers sure can be found and installed when missing from HP or the chip maker them selfs.
