My screen suddenly went black after hearing funny

HP Pavilion dm4-1165dx Entertainment Notebook PC an 8 year old PC today. this laptop needs service, you jammed the battery lock. tricky to fix that, its a pure physical fix. seen many do it. the trick is push battery harder, the slide the lock. best is to run the PC with not big battery. at all they short, and shorted batteries are both dangerous and overload the PCs power structures (buses) so the PC runs ok. now? its unclear as to what the status is above. find a shop that can remove the main battery. other failures common this year.. besides main battery *****. is RTC coin cell *****, replace, it. read page 46. the book is free, read how to. next is HDD *****, (all the reset have longer lives, 20years +) this year. I cant comment on screen LINES unless photos posted. http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03106715

I have an HP SimpleSave Portable Hard Drive. For

no pc stated. just the drive. is the drive power pack missing or bad. most external HDD need a power pack or fail. is the unstated PC ,running XP ro VISTA the 2 dead OS????? the hdd external, some can run on full powered desktops no power pack needed, (some) but most older laptops the USB ports are gutless wonders only has 1/10th the power on USB to spin up any HDD made. your question is devoid of facts 1: no OS stated (XP is dead, so is vista for PnP drivers !) 2: no power pack present and working/. 3: no PC stated, maker and model. the HDD has motor that must start and run . can ake 2 amps of current to get many HDD to started, (USB3C can do that but you dont have that) the PnP drivers must load or USB fails. XP fails hard, and VISTA now too..... I will assume the external hdd tests ok on desktop. inserted in to its USB3 ports. above. a omg duh moment. and fact if true. theUSB ports can be limited to 100ma 300mA 900MA or more. the ABOVE LOVES To fail on external HDD. lacking the power pack it came with plugged in. USB3C is go, most work, pack free.

My laptop hp compaq 6715s, the battery is charging

what is a device? did you mean PC, a collections of devices and chips:? a PC Is not a DEVICE it is a system.(or machine) why in the world not buy a new battery first? if charging fails. mine sometimes go bad even 1 year old, when I abuse it. and I fully expect that, if you read the battery makers pages, youd learn how that happens' (cycling the snarf out of it) if i remove the word DEVICE and add LAPTOP OR PC THE ANSWER IS THIS. IF the Pc does not run with the battery (main big) out ! the power pack is bad. the PC will run forever on AC power, a fact, !!! I do so all the time, or even the wrong AC pack used, (mixed up with other pc:) get a new pack, get one matching your systems, needs (watts) the laptops can come with 5 processor options and 4 graphic chip options, the worse mix is 100watts, HP will tell you that match. but only if YOU tell your full service tag data.... that magic, nnnnnnnABA# number tells the HP pro what is inside this laptop and what power park is right or just buy the 19v, 100watt pack. here is real HP, fixya is NOT. they can match you up as can the hp PARTS SURFER, https://h30434.www3.hp.com/

I was installing drivers on

so are you connected to the interenet with wired ethernet cable to the router, if not, MS can not load the driver, 1/2 the time. if not local found driver, then remote load fails, every time. use the cable first. cat5/6 did you know old PCs with old wireless cards or chips for same may not even have a driver for windows 7, any where on earth. that is correct. your post fails to say , what OS the PC came with, so now we must look that up for you (nice no?) now learn that there are many 625, so which one is yours. each one can have 3 different wifi chips. https://www.notebookcheck.net/HP-625-Series.42913.0.html it came new with XP, Vista or w7 32bit and 64bit. so what did you have and is the upgrade w7 64bit. drivers match 3 things
  1. your PC and its exact chip
  2. 64bit or 32bit.
  3. and your OS
if really savvy, post your service tag data, model full. HP will ask you the same thing for the same exact reseaons we cant see your tag. so all accurate answers are impossible' unless, you get super lucky and use that CAT5 cable and let MS try to update your missing wifi chip driver. here is proof of the above, the HP offical w7-64 page https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-625-notebook-pc/4173277 see that it has at least 3 wifi chips used new. you an load them all and the one that does not fail is the one. or use the assistant (with cat 5 cable plugged in or its all just a waste of time) run this. its magic, but can fail. as all magic can. http://h18021.www1.hp.com/helpandsupport/hp-self-support.html

Getting 4 beeps with memory

you posted a mobo number not a PC real name. its HP 412410-003 HP 442031-001 S775 A/V M/B that is XW4400 ( I own a mint xw4600 ) simular. why post MOBO #'s and not true PC name????????? no MOBO works ever with all memory out , why do that? just to hear the 4 beeps the manual on the PC its a HPE workstation in fact not a PC. the PSU is dead. (or a gross short) why not test the PSU First with the jumper clip im reading your manual for you now XW4400 it says. BAD PSU. Blinks red 4 times (once per second), then a 2-second pause, and then 4 beeps the fans slow means 12vdc is weak as in not at 12vdc. only 2 things cause that. bad PSU, or the 12vdc bus is shortred. more sure 5 beeps is memory dead, low bank. 6 is video bad. GPU card. the beep code 4 is top priory error think about that, if power is bad, all else IS in electronics power is first. and always first. means at spec. the test is easy and 3 fold is savvy 1: the jumper test. http://www.pcdied.com/power.html#rapid_testing 2: same as above, but turns on and voltage test all pins. 3: if really pro- a load bank test, puts full load on PSU. that is why shops with tools waste little time. strip all things off the MOBO memory all drives all PCI cards and express cards. (all but CPU) CPU dont fail if the heatsink has not fallen off. remove all things that can short out 12vdc, fans and drives. do not run it with fans pulled for more than say 15 seconds use a voltmeter, turn it on measure 5v and 12v and 3.3v psu pins. seen in link above a dmm meter is $20 at warfart. anyone can use one, easy. the black wires are ground (common) meter black to black. red meter to the 3 top power pins on PSU jack. now my wild guess, bad PSU. but I cant strip your PC nor watch you.

What is the default ip address for hp 2510-24 j9019B switch ?

Switches don't have an address, think of them more like a traffic intersection with 24 roads. When you plug a device into the switch, that device gets assigned an ip address. For example:
  1. Phone line comes in to your house and stops at your modem, your modem is plugged into the switch. The modem picks up the private network address 192.168.0.0
  2. Your computer is plugged into the switch. It picks up ip 192.168.0.1
  3. Your friends computer is plugged into the switch. It picks up ip 192.168.0.2
This carries on until you have filled all the sockets on the switch. The ip's here are only on your personal network, to find what your external ip (your modem -> internet) is just type 'whats my ip' in the google search and it will show you your public ip address.

How to fix the sound of HP pavilion dv6345us

sure, get the Correct HP driver for this exact pc but, but but...The windows sounds are dead. (do that yet>, CP + sound test)CP = control paneltry to know , most HP made, dv6345us, can have 3 sound chips as an option day 1 new!what you have is clearly stated in the service tag that you did NOTpost, the number ending in ABA# is THAT number.the chip and PC and the unstated OS all must matchwindows what? you never said so i cant match that either.VISTA????????? vista 32 bit or 64????????but the other way is what, sure, guess.read the drivers at HP and try all there.for sound chips (aka audio)This HP computer is 11 years old. now. (2007)HP dropped most support on it this old, (SOP) one sound chip is Conexant AC -Link Audiolets say you said (service tag) RV214UA#ABAand you said VISTA> what works there.the secret is deep, lacking full spec, from HP.finding Conexant drivers is not easy, lots of hits all virus sites now.lets first look .does device manager show it as bad.CP+DM see sound there. is it red, yellow or Unknown marked.go to CP again control panelclick sound is the Conexant still there.the window for sound has a speaker is it selected?select speaker then properties lower right.then pick enhancementshit checkmark, disable all sound effectsclick tab levels, turn up volume.can you do all that, i bet not, its got bad drivers for this chipVISTA btw is dead so asking MS to update driver is dream of dreams, hopeless, now and for sure forward.you dont have the HP install disks so that source too is missing.,leaving you , VISTA and MS and HP and conexant in the lurch.if microsoft was not dead and your internet was alive (is it)the remove the driver, and reload, it under device manager.it then magically PnP reloads from MS but not if the MS driver servers are off line as they sure are. (1/2 or all) (ms secret this is)Hard this is,::::, 1ST OFF, is HP ended support,ON YOUR PC NOW.2nd VISTA support has ended at MS. (double dead)3rd factor (bad) IS Conexant maker of chip and their Driver. IS DEAD. TRIPLE DEAD.SHORT WHY>?synaptics Bought out Conexant in 2017, and shows no support NOW. FOR THAT. the Snaptics web site lists nothing on the words driver or conexant. zero support, but do call them,,,? SO that ends that foray. leaving all those malwares sites offering this driver, only. ? many we can find it this magical way. the FAMOUS DRIVER PACKS site. (all safe ask) the one place on earth with no malware is here.this is the vista set 32bit only 64 is on other pagethere are 15 drivers for Conexant. there. get them try them.end storyhttp://driverpacks.net/driverpacks/windows/7/x86/audio/11.11

My screen gets a black box in the middle of it for a few seconds and goes away

whoo hooooh a full model number but no OS stated CQ60-615DX i guess all users of PC are clueless what the OS is or its name. vista or w7? (click control panel then system , bingo OS) name) no photos posted of this black screen box. nor when it happens.? I see HP dropped all software support now, but yes some guides still there. 2008? year? LT? so HP does drop support in10 years, they even say that. the BUG battery main is long ago bad and shorted, keep the battery out for ever, or buy a new one. end big battery facts, keep it out. now run on AC ? power ok, only (wall power!) then get a new coin cell battery HP RTC stated in the service manual . the manual to do that is missing now. HP is trimming off line books on this pc.as we type. 2008 is the worst year for any laptop, the solder ball years from hell. but if the PC runs ok mostly (you never once said tHAT) The its not bad nvida chip inside. (causes full black screens or lines) but these guys to. see page 4-12 actual = RTC coin page 51 in PDF. covers the coin cell swap out. $2 part for sure bad at 10years old 7 is par. this book was deleted at HP, (bums) https://www.manualslib.com/manual/71703/Hp-Cq60-Series.html

I installed validity driver version.

NO PC stated (model name and full number) NO OS stated, is this XP? must we beg you to get hard key facts like this>? what are you attempting, ? the Finger print reader has many features, which one are you attempting? yes, it can work but only works on matching PC and matching OS. the HP pages there warn you,.it only works on the OS sold with PC. (eg vista or w7) HP web site on your PC is clear, ever look there? my HP 8540w , works perfectly with W7 but not w10 ! i can not use the reader nor the security package, ever. But w10 is happy there , FP reader stuff removed. HP will not revise these drivers and apps for W10 ever. see my point? In my example case. there are 2 parts, the FP reader, driver. and the security package ( vastly huge and complex !) i say why use it at all? do you have secrets on your PC? (you 007 agent?) 008? or your soon to be published book ? (huge value) or engineering work/ cad/cam, etc. or valuable art, (or music composer) or you are CEO or FCO with sensitive data? (accountant?) if no, then avoid that. The reader is safe but not the security HP applications: look in the registry at all that complexity, and risk for that. you can use the reader to block BIOS boots. dead. block the windows, login page. or block specific apps, or all 3. is say don't do it, at all. But all that works on mine 100% on w7 only. it does work but is still risky. other apps do not like it , etc.

Hi, I just bought an HP

hello. (the fan turns on, then off , that it?) a PC that self turns off, is power overloaded. tell what the fan does heck even clean it . NO OS stated, why post lacking that.? xp, w7/8/10????? vista? NO method for restore stated, must we guess? what MEDIA"?
  1. hammered the F11 key for HP magic recovery(best)
  2. used the HP recover disks with HP logos on top. ????
  3. used Microsoft disk (bad bad idea, unless you want to find all those missing HP drivers and put them all back as 1,2, does above. for free. ask we can find them see last link ....
so what does shutting down mean.? just windows (unstated) bad, locks up or goes BSOD. or does it mean the PC turns its self 100% off, silent fan silent HDD? dead silent from fan ok and hdd sounds ok. if it really turns off, then take out that huge battery there. they short, get it out of there first, run on AC pack forever. you can. so this is always first, and only takes, 4 minutes work. Does it run now,(btw , power loss has 10 to 20 causes not 1) we sometimes have to strip a system to find what shorted. things in the real world can short, many things. in fact. NEXT: then do the long reset posted on HP real site 1,000,000 times. there. endlessly. with main battery out, ac pack pulled.(both) push power button for 10 to 30 seconds. this resets sleep modes ,etc. put back only AC pack ONLY, does it turn on now and say on , does the fan work the fan must work and not be packed in lint. ok if it stay on (fan /hdd sounds) then we do BIOS NEXT. PCs boot in a serial order , in fact. does the F10 ey works as it prompt you for 7 years do you get text? ever? power on, see text do as it states, "hit F10 to enter hp setup" means to hammer F10 to enter bios. do so now. F10 is BIOS page entry command, this screen is LED so the back lamps never fail, like earlier owns do. leaving what, next, if no text or BIOS acts up, or BIOS time and date are wrong, then RTC CMOS coin cell is dead. new one. now. Coins fail at 7 years on average. a cheap and easy fix. when the coin goes dead, BIOS goes dead with it (goes mad) if that is ok and just the HDD will not boot,. then try F11 magic key. F11 is full recovery to day one stated, HP OS, (unstated) and all HP magic driver are renewed, this is the correct way. if the HDD has been slammed, F11 will be dead now. for ever. if F11 is dead, we then test the HDD. all in this order. your PC is 2010, like mine, so 7 years old is on the cusp of coin cell bad,(but usually are ok now, if lucky like my 3 are) full support page is here. the real support page at HP,. Fixya is not HP ,not now or ever. https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-probook-4520s-notebook-pc/4145198/manuals how to test a HDD, if the motor is silent it is dead. ear to side of drive, dead silent (PC fan running sure) all test here are free. zero cost. just work. http://www.pcdied.com/brick-dead.html so the power button is pushed the fan turns on right>? then goes dead silent,? surely you can tell what fan does , sounds and if text ever lands on the LED screen there. most un-serviced PC, pack up lint like this. like this, doom happens like this every time not kept clean. all do it. http://www.pcdied.com/Filth101/html/image_9.html

My webcam is not working

that is because you dont know that it takes a group of HP drivers to make that work, NO JUST ONE. why post lacking what OS is there, most have 11 choices then. windows 7 64bit or what? the bits matter too. my HP Elitebook must have a working USB2 chip(and ports) if not the camera is dead, due it using USB2 to comm. and the camera has 2 makers, and must match. here is the magic tool from hp, smart agent http://h18021.www1.hp.com/helpandsupport/hp-self-support.html the full PC support is here, ever heard of HP. lets go to HP real now, the REAL DEAL. this PC had 6 OS choices new. XP, Vista, w7 32/64bit so if you look and pic the right OS, there you get the right drivers. (hint, leave BIOS alone) https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-probook-6450b-notebook-pc/4173642 or boot and hammer F11 and go back to day one. your PC was probably slammed,' someone use Non HP disks to restore the OS. and now F11 dead forever and the special HP drivers are missing or WRONG. http://www.pcdied.com/slammed.html slammed means the PC is not 100% authentic, anymore. #1 way to do that is installing a new HDD , wrong. #2 using Microsoft disks, (not HP) 1000s asked this here, and answered and 10,000 at HP, you are not the first nor the last.

My computer won't boot up. It keeps getting error

Did you try starting the computer in Safe mode? When you press the start button press F8 or F1 before the operating system starts it will ask you if you want to start the computer in safe mode choose that and see if it starts. If it starts run msconfig and try to repair windows in safe mode. If that fails take it to a computer store and they will repair the windows operating system. Good luck.
