If you have a check engine or trouble light on the dash find out what the code is. Has any electrical work been done on your truck lately, if so make sure the wiring and connection are good. I understand when you turn lights on while driving the truck dies. Maybe you can turn ignition on don't have to crank truck and turn lights on or blower motor and see what is working and what is not. It may give you an idea of where to look. Check fuses and relays. I think I would verify the battery is good usually 12.6 volts or more and alternator is putting out about 14 volts or when truck is running. I have seen some alternators which put out over 15 volts. I have never had the problem you are having but these are some thought I have.

You should have a fuse box located to the left of the steering column by your left knee. If it's not there open your drivers door all the way and see if the panel on the end of your dash doesn't remove giving access to it. Most all GMs are there or under the dash by your left knee. Relays are a couple places. The main relay box should be under the hood on the drivers side. On or close to the inner fender well. But the ones for the blower motor are usually located behind the glove box on the ********* housing where the Heater & A/C cores are located.
Hope this helps you.

Hello James,
It sounds like either you have a blown fuse or relay under the hood. Or it may be your keyfob. With the Interior lights and the liftgate not working. I want to say it may be a fuse. Have you hooked anything new upon the vehicle? If so you might have shorted something out. Have you recently put a receiver hitch on it? If so there is a possibility you could have got your wires pinched in it, or you may have lost a ground wire somewhere in your wiring. I'm sure you have probably already checked your fuses, but did you check both boxes? The one under the hood and the one under the dash? Check them and go from there to your wiring and check your battery in your Fob. You can make sure your fob hasn't messed up by taking it to someone with the right scan tool and reprogram it to your vehicle. Try that and see what you come up with.

Yes, a inoperable relay will cause a turn signal failure. But it isnt the only reason. If you need more information please write back. If you do, please write back with specific details about the issue and what you have done and tried so far. Good luck.

Hi Jeff. You shouldn't have to disconnect batteries for four months of storage, but it's probably a good idea to do it anyway...just to be safe.

Does the engine Crank but not Start or no Crank? If the engine light is on I need you to read the codes or have them read. If there is a stored code it could be very helpful. There are many reasons for a No Start. Please start here and write back. Just in case you wanted some examples. Blown Fuse, Low Fuel Pressure, Low Compression, MAF sensor, fouled spark plugs, CKP sensor or ignition control module. Hope this helps. Let me know if there is anything else. Good luck.

Modules communicate back and forth on the CAN bus. Code U0100 indicates the PCM is not able to send or receive CAN communication signals. This should be diagnosed by a professional.
Possible causes:
  • A faulty PCM
  • A problem with the control module circuit
  • A problem with the CAN bus

Make sure battery has a full charge and battery cables/connections all good. Have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Check fuel injector pulse? Any applicable trouble codes? Those are the basic checks, in my opinion. Let us know what you find?

My thoughts. Make sure battery has a full charge?Cables/connections all good? Have helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure? Check fuel injector pulse? Any applicable trouble codes? Those are the basic checks, in my opinion. Just to add, if you have the spider fuel system, that system is noted for problems.
