GE Dishwashers - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support
Need wiring diagram for Hotpoint built-in eletric stove catalog number RF755001HT.
I can suggest some general steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue with the 115V outlet on your Hotpoint built-in electric stove:
- Check the power source: Make sure the stove is properly plugged in and that the circuit breaker is on. If there's still no power, try resetting the breaker.
- Inspect the wiring: Look for any loose or damaged wires around the outlet or control panel. If you're not comfortable working with electrical wiring, it's best to call a professional.
- Check the outlet: Use a multimeter to check if the outlet is providing power. If it's not, it may need to be replaced.
- Contact the manufacturer: If none of the above steps solve the problem, you can contact Hotpoint for assistance or to request a wiring diagram.
Remember, working with electricity can be dangerous, so it's important to take appropriate safety precautions and seek professional help if needed.
Why is my GE dishwasher drain solenoid continuously burning up?
There could be a few reasons why your GE dishwasher drain solenoid keeps burning up:
- Overloading the dishwasher: Overloading the dishwasher can cause the motor to work harder, which in turn can cause the drain solenoid to burn out.
- Improper installation: If the drain solenoid is not installed correctly or there is a wiring issue, this can cause the solenoid to burn out.
- Clogs or blockages: If there are clogs or blockages in the dishwasher's drain line or garbage disposal, this can cause the motor to work harder and burn out the drain solenoid.
- Electrical issues: If there are electrical issues with the dishwasher, such as a short circuit, this can cause the solenoid to burn out.
To troubleshoot the issue, you may want to start by checking the dishwasher's drain line and garbage disposal for any clogs or blockages. You can also check the dishwasher's installation and wiring to ensure everything is properly connected. If the issue persists, you may need to consult a professional appliance repair technician to diagnose and fix the problem.
GLD2800V00WW GE dishwasher - doesn't stop washing when door is opened.
The OP Michelle writes with the FIX! Well done.
I was able to repair by doing the following: Removed the inner cover and the cover over the interlock switch. The peg and spring between the interlock switch and the other switch (?) flew out. The peg slides in-between two white plastic "legs" that seemed bent. Tried to straighten them, re-inserted the peg and spring. Removed the interlock switch, checked connection was firm and reinserted. Made sure peg slides up and down. Closed everything up and voila! The dishwasher stops when door is opened. No new parts needed!

GE Dishwasher makes loud banging noise
Check the stainless steel cover on the bottom of the lower rack sprayer. If it has been bent downward on either end, it will hit the inside panel of the door near the bottom. It may score the panel as it hits on each rotation of the sprayer.
Just bend it back in position, carefully, with a pair of pliers. The technique required is similar to bending the pocket clip of a fountain pen back into the proper position after it has been sprung out too far. You might practice on a pen or mechanical pencil clip to see what I mean.
GE Profile Dishwasher about 7 years old.
The washer doesn't pump water in--plumbing water pressure forces it in when the water inlet solenoid opens the valve. Check the water inlet solenoid--they are a common failure point. Look under the front of the washer behind the panel to find it--just trace the water inlet line. It connects directly to it. The valve can be stuck shut or, more commonly, the plastic coil form of the solenoid disintegrates. In any case, just replace it. Don't forget to shut off the water supply valve under the sink before you start work. Hope this helps!
GE Nautilus won't drain after Rinse Cycle
Check disposer plug. If a garbage disposer has been recently installed, it is possible the disposer drain plug was not removed. The drain plug is a plastic piece in the disposer that blocks the hole where the dishwasher hose connects. Also check the hose connected to the disposal. Mine apparently had a kink in it. When I straightened the hose the dishwasher drained at full speed (I recently had a plumber re-route a hot waterline. He must has bent the hose). Hope this helps. If not go to the GE website. That's where I found my answer.
