Replace fan in G"way M-6755. Turned it on & received same messag
IT BEEPS BUT FAILED TO SAY THE BEEP CODE
PC' HAVE 4 BIOS.
AMI
PHOENIX
AWARD
INTEL.
THE CODE IS NOT THE SAME ON ALL 4.
not told at all does fans spin at all?
say that there was a fan failure
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN, TEXT ERRORS OR FAKE WRONG BEEP CODES. that you thing means fan and does not
my wild guess TEXT errors to the screen.
so wrong fan used. is the cause.
the BIOS reads the fan tachometer sensor RPM (1 pin) and if the
if the rpm is wrong due to dead fan or using any wrong fan that runs too fast or slow the , error will pop up after all why let this error CAUSED OVERHEATING AND DAMAGE, (GEE IT DOES NOT)
I CALL USING WRONG FAN. NO MODEL FAN TOLD. FROM GATEWAY
HARD TO FIND CAN IT IS.
FAN LUGGED IN WRONG.
IS THE CMOS COIN BATTERY DEAD MAKING FAN CONTROLS LIE;.?
I'm upgrading my RAM from 4Gb to 8Gb 1333Mhz DDR3 kinsgton to my DH67CL mobo with an intel i3 2120 2nd generation processor.. When I started my desktop, there was no display, so i took one stick o
you are confused ( the rules are not singular ever)
first of all these are the rules on DDR3 (any mem) upgrades
- gateway manual covers this but no GW model told.
- bios shows its ok or upgraded , bios now works.
- chipset allows this DDR3 and that same density
- not violating slot limits or both at once limits
- matching sku on DDR3, says intel clearly.
- no PC does 32BG with that chip set,. (none sold so no way on the earth to test it ever in that YEAR NEW) but is a logical limit only in the i3 MMC. per its datasheet intel.com
- try the bios upgrade,
- NO OS told at all, nor how you know 8GB fails does bios see it>????? if the OS is 32bit max is 4GB (3.2GB with video stealing VRAM from Dram per chipset H67.
- is this a real intel mobo?> as some are, then if yes ask intel too for help.
- intel bios is BLH6710H.86A date. Version 0162 or later 2018
- Most old mobo do not like super new DDR3 it high density DRAM on the sticks, some do if bios upgrade.
- Intel is mute now on this Discontinuted product. theirs"
Gateway M what does this mean,????
M is notebook not desktop so you posted to gateway forum for any intel actual mobo
DH67CL
if this mobo came from intel new, then only ask them or post to intel forum not gateway
but gee I do know some old makers of PC simply stuffed in this mobo into there cases and sold it by there name.
but no GW model told AT ALL.
been here yet

RTM from maker, do as they say.
and over 4GB needs 64bit OS.
the 32GB limit includes PCI memory too,
see page 40 , and know that your unstated OS must know how to use the upper memory bank of the MMC controller
4 slots of DDR3 are there. (4x8=32) make sure BIOS likes it first NOT WINDOWs (if is>?) bios is first and bios tells windoz how much DDR3 is there, and works with that.
32BG is possible if all things are correct
BIOS if it scans the SPD chip in the DDR3 each , and BIOS is does not know what it sees , it will truncate DDR. max.

My gatway m6307 wont boot into repair mode and
mlendle
It is a good possiblity that you have both. Note in most cases the F8 options are OS options. So if they are not working this means there is a problem with the data on the hard drive.
Now it is possible that there is something wrong with the motherboard on the computer and this corrupted the data on the hard drive.
I would like to see if you are able to get into the BIOS on the system. Try turning on the system and press F2 or the DEL key to see if you get any changes.

I have a Gateway MT6821
This sounds like Vid Chip failure, That has a very inexpensive mother board that can be replaced There is one listed on a popular site that sells used parts for $10.00 right now
Sbcglobal.net home page
Well, what displays instead of that? You can change your homepage by opening Internet Explorer, going to Tools, then clicking Internet Options. The option to change the homepage will then be staring you in the face.
DC Jack connection to motherboard
Normally this would be an easy fix if it had a cable style dc jack, but this model is soldered to the mother board. I have done 100's of them and will tell you that unless you know how to use that soldering iron correctly then perhaps you may want to take it to a shop to have It repaired. Before you even start look at the location that the DC jack goes to make sure there is no damage to the mother board. That is not a normal DC jack either, there are 9 locations that need to be soldered. I would suggest to take it to a repair shop
The sound on my gateway m350wvn is not working.
2003 PC, made, so is XP right???????????????
then you upgraded to W7 and sound is dead sure.
no OS stated, making any easy answer impossible.
yes uSb head phones work it has its own chip and drivers.
yes USB sound dongles work for the same reason as above.
I bet all that is really wrong is the OS was slammed.
came with XP and you upgrade it to w7 and sound is dead.
or new HDD, new W7 and same.
15 years old I bet it didnt run for 15 years, and not get messed up by repairs done wrong.
if still on XP way are you? it is a virus magnet. now,
simple answer yes, if the USB device runs XP , most dont/
but NO OS STATED so no possible accurate answers possible.
Gateway MT3705 screen blinks on and off
Just a thought..
Grab the upper-right corner of the screen and wiggle it back and forth, like you do when you open it. If the screen blinks on and off, it could be that the screen is cracked from twisting it each time you open the laptop, or the ribbon cable could have a break in it.
I cannot get my Bluetooth or wifi to stay on after
I like to take my laptop apart and clean it and learn how is put together I use a small blower mini screw drivers a magnet to keep screws together I learn where the hard drive is and memory card is. my advice is if you decide to clean yours if you have the tools I would give it a try.
