Its actually pretty simple. Check your account page to sign up to become an expert. After you prove your quality of work you can apply to get paid for it. I've only just started, but helping people is always a nice thing to do, getting paid makes it even better!

You don't get paid. We all do it for the love of it. None of the Experts or the Moderators (like me) are paid. I have 31,181 Answers so far, all free.

The sister site is a paid site, but you have to register, you have to be VERY good with your knowledge. It is all answered by phone.

Most questions have poor spelling and some do not make perfect sense about their question asked. Those I just pass on by for no perfect meaning has been established

It's not an 'account' as such. It is just a way for you to log in and retrieve any posts you have made. The site is based in the United States so GDPR is not valid there. It is only relevant in the UK and not enforceable in the USA. The log in just becomes dormant if you don't use it.

The site is not monitored, it is just a vehicle to create adverting revenue by displaying adverts to those using it.

yes thats true. some add links pictures or drawing to their posts for more points. some older users can also edit and move posts to the correct categories too..all for points which arent worth anything really

How to add a category to a fixya tip when categories don't load

I found fixya categories wouldn't load on either my iPad or on Safari on my Mac which prevented me from posting a tip. To solve this once you are logged in to the website:
  • Go to Browse Categories at the top, then click on the category you would like to use so that you go into the category to view items
  • Go back to posting a new tip (eg click the fixya logo at the top, then click on the add a tip button)
You will see that the category you selected when browsing is the default for the tip, so you can create and then post the tip.

If we asked any question in Fixya our expert personnel will give their suggestion and comments.
any personnel that answered the question will be recorded or save the conversation to their "My Profile" folder.
If the questioner want to reply or leave a comment it can be.
Just link again to the problem comments and leave any comment you want or additional question regarding to the first.
The experts who answered your question will be directly received a comment file and he will be directly read again what you indicated or post to the comment box.
Same he can again comment and you will received it again.
Until the problem will be finish or be solved.
