After loading the new update, reboot the device and check the info in the Settings mode to see what date is on the program now loaded in the device. If the dates match the upgrade, you were successful

FineDrive units were made by Navman. They do not support any software updates for them, but for a price, they may repair it. My educated guess, though, is that the price of a repair would exceed the purchase of a new unit.

FineDrive 400's were manufactured by Navman, but are not supported anymore in any fashion, no updated maps, no op system upgrades, no Windows drivers or anything. If and when it malfunctions, you may be forced to get another unit. If it can't get a signal, provided that you are in the open, outside, that would indicate a receiver failure.

It sounds like you have a corrupt op system in your unit. Unfortunately, FineDrive units were discontinued about 8 years ago. Finedrive 400's were manufactured by Navman over 8 years ago. Their maps are not supported for updated maps. Your unit could be having trouble identifying its location on an obsolete map.

At this point, the youngest Finedrive unit is about 8 years old. They were manufactured by Navman. If your display is bad, try them to get a new one. My educated guess is that will be expensive, so it might be more economical to get a new unit.

Finedrive units use mp3 format music files. If you plug it into your computer and accumulate a collection and then transfer it to the music folder on the Finedrive, it should work. If it doesn't, Finedrives were made my the Navman company and they may be able to supply you with a manual.

Odds are that your rechargeable power cell will not hold a charge. You may have to replace it.

Finedrive units are made by Navman. Try them to see if they have parts available. Finedrives are no longer manufactured and their maps are not supported for updates.

Finedrive GPS's are made by Navman. You might try there. You should know, though, that Finedrives are no longer available and their maps are NOT updateable.

No map upgrades have been available for the Finedrive line of GPS' for several years. I learned that they were produced by the same company as Navman, but they are no longer supported.
