Why is there black water in my Euro Steam Iron?

Question moved from Coffee Makers. Has it ever been descaled? That is oxidization from the aluminium tank and sole plate upper surface. https://www.fixya.com/support/r26134544-cleaning_laundry_iron ..

I have a EURO-PRO X Model EP965 Steam Generator seems to working but steam is not coming our, neither for the iron nor for the brush.

I think you have a tank that is calcified and is not getting enough heat to the water assuming there is enough water in it. If it was blocked it would either cause the relief valve to vent or explode. I would start by cleaning it, my best guess would be to run a few cycles with vinegar in it. This is a mild acid that will dissolve the calcium deposits. Try maybe a 50%-50% with vinegar and water. Be sure the vinegar will not damage the unit, I do not know. Hope these links help. http://www.sharkclean.com/manual/EP965-instruction_book_0701A.pdf Euro Pro EP965 Use And Care Instructions Manual Euro Pro EP965 Carpet Cleaner User Manual Questions Answers for euro pro steam cleaner iron

Could be a hidden recall. I'd check MFG website, or email their customer service.

How do you open the back plate to access the power connection. On a shark model G1568 iron??

We have a Euro Pro GI472, which kept going off and on, and the problem seemed to be an intermittent connection in the power circuit. If we "fiddled" with the cord, the power light would go off and on. To get the back off, I removed the two screws below the rubber feet, near the identification tag. Then I had to pop the red plastic light lens off the top of the iron. The lens is held by two plastic "claws" one at the top and at the bottom of the lens. Once the lens is out, there is a small Phillips-head screw visible between two light sources. I removed the screw, and that freed the cover, and made it possible to access the wiring. Testing continuity from the wall plug to the two wires inside the iron, and flexing the cord, quickly led to a spot in the cord that was slightly kinked, and that was the location of the fault. Both wires under the insulation were broken. In fact there were small balls of melted copper near the breaks. Then it is a matter of making sure you know which wire of the power cord goes to which spot in the iron (a photo or a sketch will save mistakes when reassembling) cutting out the faulty wire, getting a suitable crimp connector and a wire nut and rewiring the iron.

Euro-Pro Steam Generator EP8015 - Rocker switch

The screws holding the unit together are T-20 TORX screws; the center post makes them anti-tamper TORX screws. These screws are used in applications in which the manufacturer does not want the average consumer to attempt repairs. Please don't take this wrong, but if you have to ask about the "unusual 6-sided screw", then you shouldn't be opening the unit.

Unfortunately, when the heating element rocker switch gives out (3-4 years), it is usually about time to overhaul the entire iron (both the tank portion as well as the iron portion). Other things that can cause problems are the thermostat and the pressure actuator.

Contact A2A Consulting at 1-888-830-3563; they can probably fix the unit for you.

I blew a circuit breaker a while back and my unit has not worked since. Is there a reset button or fuse I can replace?

I can not find it either! I talk to the company that shows first on the list when you go into google and they apologize as that sewing machine center does not sell them since 2009. I asked if they could trouble shoot it with me as when I turn it on has a non stop laud sound. They insisted that they could not help. I asked them to remove the item from the website if they do not sell it or can not provide service for it. They did not wanted it. THAT SEWING MACHINE company just want to use it to bring more customer to their website....THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE. Bad Business do not purchase from them as they can not stand and provide service for the products they sold you.

Shark troubleshooting

Pour all the water out of the iron, and fill it with white vinegar. Heat it and let it spit vinegar for a while. Chances are there is simply a bunch of crud in the iron from the water, most likely calcium carbonate. The vinegar is the cheap and easy fix, but if that does not do it you;ll have to bring out the "Big Gun" and use some "CLR" cleaner, available at most grocery or hardware stores. "CLR" stands for "Calcium, Lime and Rust", and a small jug of it is about $6 USD, It will clean the crud out for sure. Ironing seems to be a "lost art". Congratulations on being a smart desser!

Hi i have an edbs920

it can be that one of the thermostats controlling the water flow pump into the steam generator has become open circuit, caution is advised as this can potentially overheat the steam generator for there being lack of water, depending on your system design...i could be wrong just a guess !

How to clean siemen extreme power iron

A solution of white vinegar and water is a good cleaner for irons. Steam irons get clogged with mineral deposits, and vinegar works well to dissolve those deposits. Make a 50/50 solution of the vinegar and water and pour it in the iron, and place the iron on steam, allowing the solution to work thru the iron. You may have to do the cleaning a few times, depending on how clogged the iron is. For future reference, use distilled water in the iron, because distilled water does not contain any significant amount of minerals. Distilled water can be found in the supermarket in one gallon jugs.

What can be done about leaking steam?

ensure your iron steam button is not set into perminent steam function. leaving the iron with the point of the iron pointing upwards should reduce steam to the handle. also the iron may need to be descaled to ensure any steam switch funtion is not stuck in an on position.
