Converting aan LP oven to gas
In most cases the pressure regulator has to be changed or adjusted. The orfices on each burner, oven, broiler and surface burner may need to be changed also. Sometimes they can be adjusted. Sometimes the threads on the pipe are different also. This is to prevent accidental connection to the wrong fuel. The big difference is the gas pressure. LP is usually around 10 - 12 lbs and natural gas is usually around 3 lbs. Properly adjusted you will like natural gas much better than LP as it is slightly hotter. The information will be in the instruction book and also on the Jenn air web site. Whirlpool owns both Maytag and Jenn aire so check all sites. The conversion kit is usually less than $50.
Broiling
it really doesnt matter because the heat transfers directly onto the food therefore you can leave the door open or shut.
F1 code and oven controls do not work. Stove top
Hi,
This is a very stuborn error that keeps popping .
In such situation it could be two things and both of them are very rare.
Measure the oven sensor resistance at the ERC plug. It suppose to be about 1100 Ohms at the room temperature.
If the reading is wrong - measure the sensor resistance at the oven sensor connection to the wire harness (where the sensor wires coming through the oven back wall). Also check if the connection is charred.
Replace the oven sensor if the reading is wrong or the connection is charred.
If there is nothing wrong then the new ERC is defective. In such case call the customer service for the warranty exchange.
- The part number for the oven sensor is
AP204835
Sure this will help.
God Bless
Electric fan oven overheating
It sounds like the thermostat is faulty, make sure the sensor is not detached inside the oven compartment, as this will affect the thermostatI if it is. If o/k, then the only option is to replace the thermostat. If it is fan assisted, then make sure the fan is working o/k as well.

Kenmore stove surface unit light stays on
YOU HAVE A SURFACE UNIT SWITCH GOING BAD take off the back and look at the switches if you have a volt ohm meter you can check for power to the light if you dont have a meter you can unplug the stove and pull each wire 1 at a time and see which one is sending power when plugged back in once you find the one replace it and problem solved
Last night we were cooking
you have a short in the electrical and i suggest you call a service repairman to have it looked at but he will probably tell you to get a new stove,,,there is no simple solution to this
Gas Double oven (Built in)
It is definately not possible to change a gas to an electric. There are very few options for double gas ovens as electric is far superior. IF you have to go with gas , check out the local Habitat for Humanity store. You should be able to buy a used gas oven. It probably won't have the self clean feature. You would be better off trying e bay or a local scratch and dent outlet for a nice electric convection oven. It will need a seperate 220 volt circuit probably 40 amps. This isn't as expensive as you would think. Use the installer from the dealer you purchase the oven from. They are usually a lot cheaper than a union electricial worker. The 4 sizes available for built in ovens are the old standard of 24" the newer standard of 27" and the most common and useful 30" This is the current standard but you will also still be able to get 27" There is also a custom standard of 36" which would be for the very high end lines. These are all width measurements. The height will vary with the model. Most cabinets are made to accept various heights by removing one or more drawers underneath.
Kenmore electric stove heating element how to replace
A replacement is usually around $40. There are usually 2 screws holding the element in the back of the stove. Turn off the power and remove the element. There are usually only 2 wires. It really doesn't matter which goes where. Install the new element and see if it will shut off when oven reachers temp. If it continues to heat, there is another piece that needs to be replaced. If there is a contactor or relay replace it, If not the thermostat needs to be replaced. Sometimes when the element burns out it shorts to the ground and fuses the contacts forcing the element to stay on. Sometimes you actually have to turn off the power to the stove.
Oven won't stay lit
I had the same problem - it was because we were closing the oven door too hard and it was blowing the pilot out
Kenmore oven - Not heating up
Check the BACK of your temperature knob for an adjustment. I was ready to replace my heating elements when I accidently discovered the adjustment. Made the adjustment and no more problems. My oven now stays within 4 degrees of settings.
