Is means there is a ground fault. That means one of the wires that should be going to ground is actually leading to one of the AC lines. This is not good. You could possibly bypass the ground plug, although I can't suggest doing it.

unlikely as it is too cheap to carry spares
you could contact the manufacturer for spares or use the magnet form any other cheap openers that has failed
