Dimplex Heating & Cooling - Page 7 - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support
I have a dimplex heater with the log flames with remote. It starts works for six hours then stops. it will not restart for 18 hours with either remote or manual switch.
You didn't say whether the log flames remain on or whether the whole appliances dies. After a delay it presumably restarts.
If the whole appliance dies after six hours the safety cut-out has probably operated. While it is possible the safety device is faulty this is more likely to indicate the appliance is overheating, perhaps due to an insufficient flow of air through the appliance, perhaps caused by accumulated dust and fluff.
If the log flames remain illuminated it would indicate the thermostat might be faulty or the ambient temperature has become too high for the thermostat to operate.
18 hours does seem a long time for the unit or the room to cool but I can't offer an explanation for that other than the fault might be with the electronic control where a small fault might have strange or unusual symptoms.
I suggest the heater is first checked for inner cleanliness.
Heater not working but flame effect does
If you have opened the glass door you will see 2 switches and a rotating dial, thermostat. ! switch is heat, the 2nd is the flame effect. it is not serviceable to a consumer unless professionally trained.
Dimplex cheriton fire model CHT20LE wont turn on
Check the fuse isn't blown in the plug. If it is not, then you would unfortunately need to open up the fire and check the internal wiring and connections, check the switches with a multimeter to make sure they are working. There really isn't much inside these units to go wrong! So any fault should be rather easy to find
Can i change wattage on my dimplex fire place model dfb 8842
This model does have 2 elements and it will likely cut the wattage in half if you disconnect one. Not sure how hard it is to get to the heater assembly, but there are terminals on the right side that probably have spade disconnects. If so, remove one marked D or E, and tuck it away and see if it puts out less heat.
Dimplex Convector Heater EPX1000 turns off by itself
I have the same problem with 3 of the 5 EPX1000s I have fitted in my flat, although mine don't even warm up. They just immediately turn themselves off. My only conclusion is that they are rubbish. Specifically, the so-called overheat protection doesn't work. Avoid.
Do Dimplex XT C Storage Heaters contain Asbestos?
Probably a little bit late to be answering this now, but no they do not contain asbestos.
You could have received an answer to this within about 5 minutes by calling Glen Dimplex direct or even any electrical wholesaler
