I purchased a DImplex EUH04B81CT heater 600 volt , will this work in my garage at home with 240 wiring and would it be safe and efficient
When I saw 600 volts I assumed it was a mistake and checked and sure enough 6.67 amps at 600 volts = 4000 watts.
This is a serious industrial space heater requiring a voltage that can only be derived from locally generated current or via a large transformer. 600 volts is not a standard voltage and nothing I have encountered before even in industry.
240 volts might just make the fan turn slowly and produce a tiny rise in temperature but efficient it certainly won't be. The only thing you can be certain of is safety - something designed to operate at 600 volts is not going to be unsafe at 240.
I suggest you sell it on ebay if you can find a buyer...
Why won't my dimplex electric bbq turn on
The Dimplex website offers phone numbers for both customer and technical support. In addition, a query may be submitted by filling out a form. I searched for a manual for a bbq on the site and only found a user manual which did not offer troubleshooting. However, I did not have the model number with which I might search for a service manual. Warranty information may also be found onsite.
