yes id say its worth $40.00.My buddy back in ohio has one on 2 10"kickers and it sounds pretty damn good.I dont know about you but im willing to risk $40.00for a 1120 watt 2 channel amp...but there are a couple of questions...is there a built in cross over is it self cooled...is it NEW?or do you have axcess to the paper workbecause that never hurts.But all in all id say yes go for it

But as for your amp, it means that your amp can handle high power going through the amp without shutting down or being blown up. As your impedance(resistance) drops on the amp, more power the amp will put out....

The high current drain due to a possible short in the sub output drivers must have pushed the connectors to melt off and fail.
Your amplifier driver MOSFETS might have shorted to bring about the protection on. Make sure that the wiring to the sub woofer is not touching a ground or shorting.
You can ask any audio tech. to have a look within and test for shorted driver outputs.

this can not be done to the factory deck you would have to replace it if wanting to keep factory just get an aux or i pod cable intergrated with your factory deck
