When you say a session is it opening to the login page and terminating and shutting down?or where is it stopping? Have you tried opening on safe mode? If it opens on safe mode go to control panel under users and add a user with admin rights after that log off and login with the new account and you can transfer any personal data from one profile to the new one. Once done go under control panel and delete the entire bad profile. Once completed restart. If its on windows boot, you might need a windows disk to fix.

The easy way round this is to increase the amount of RAM in your machine. I would suggest at least 3 GB and use the fastest ram you can fit (check the spec of your machine for the memory type [DDR2 or DDR3], max speed and how much ram your board will take. If your Windows OS is 64 bit you can fit the max amount your machine can handle)

They will only work when something is plugged into them.

First thing to do is a hard reset. Merely unplug the power cord for 4 hours, then power up again.In order to dissipated the remaining current stored in the memory and disconnect all unit connected.

I just talked to Digidesign and apparently this is a problem with the DC power harness.  You can call them and they will send you a replacement harness at no cost, since it is a repair and a known issue.  Basically I was told that the problem was due to oxidation on the power contacts.  The oxidation prevents the unit from having constant power.  The clicking you hear are the relays going through the initial power sequence multiple times as they get power and then lose it again. In theory you could fix the problem temporarily with some contact cleaner.  They will be sending me a a package with the new (and improved) harness, instructions and contact cleaner.  I am assuming this will fix the problem once I get the chance to swap the harness myself.
