This could be a lot of things, could be the speaker has failed or the wires came loose. Could be a power issue to the radio module etc.

When that happens it is difficult to know whether it is the charger or the battery that is at fault.

An intelligent charger will not charge a battery it "sees" as faulty. Testing the charger with a known good battery is the way to go.

Occasionally, the charger might show blinking red right to indicate bad batteries. ... This indicates that the battery already have a full charge. If charging is needed, briefly drain the batteries before trying again. If the light blinks red in about 90 seconds after battery insertion, then the battery voltage is too low.

Have you tried changing the AA Batteries, sounds simple, but a lot of people forget to try this. When they go flat, they lock the radio out and nothing will work. HHM Dewalt Agent

Check fuses inside. Check fuse and connections in plug. If this is a 110v radio there is one on transformer winding.
