I run my dewalt compressor off of my generator at
DO not turn on your generator you generate over your rpm level 3000 and will have an too high output and will burn your electric field of the compressor.
First is to control your pressure check-valve on the tank of the compressor and if there is on the compressor brand model ? a pressure relief valve most on the pressure (pressostatswitch) then that will in most cases with a little hose also on the check valve and should work smoot but the check valve if it will not good close the tankpressure then it will give a very high pressure load and sometimes you can hear it , the checkvalve inside will have a spring and a rubber piece control for rust flakes or any problem sometimes the rubber part can also be smoothed on sandpaper. in most cases the check-valve and pressure relief will have problems on metal pieces then the pressure relief will blocked and will not close , but sometimes not.
How do I unseiz my dewalt DG6000 generator motor due to non use
Remove spark plug. Pour a small amount of a lubricant like Marvel Mystery Oil in and allow to soak for a day or two. Repeat this process at least two times. Then try to turn the engine over slowly by hand. Do not use the pull rope or starter. You need to use a wrench, pry bar, etc. You may have to remove the engines cover to access the flywheel to turn it.

Light flashes repeatedly but won't fire
The same thing happens in cordless drills that they do not start and only the led light works. In cordless drills case this means it need a new switch to be replaced. If it is under the 3 year warranty policy it is changed free of charge from dewalt. If it is more than 3 years then you have to pay for the switch but it is not that expensive.
Why does it leak gas at carb after turned off?
Ifyour carb is leaking fuel then I would suggest that the carb float needle has got stuck open.
To fix this you need to:
- Remove the carb bowl taking note which direction it faces (I usually mark a line from top of the carb and down the bowl with a marker to make this easy.)
- Check the state of the fuel and residue left in the bowl.
- Slide the pin out from the float hinge (be careful not to lose any springs that might be seating the float needle.
- Inspect the float needle tip. It should be smooth with not scratches etc. (if yours has rubber on the tip, also be sure this has not perished.)
- Clean the float needle and clean the jet hole it sits in.
- If there was a "gunk" or dirt in the carb bowl when you took it off, remove and clean all the other removable components.
- Re-assemble. Making sure the air screw (brass with a spring) is set a 1.5 turns un-done from lightly done up.
If you find that the carb is still leaking, this could be due to the ethanol in the fuel, eating away the components. We do sell both Carb Repair Kits and Carbs for your Generator. You can purchase them here: http://www.generatorguru.com/dewalt/
I hope this is of assistance to you. If you have any questions we are always happy to help.

DeWalt DCD985 Chuck is not turning. What can I do to fix it?
If you go to google images for your model there are various exploded views available. If you work down them you'll see an armature with a small gear on one end. If you have no drive in any gear my guess is that gear has disintegrated. If you remove the 4 screws holding the gearcase to the motor body and carefully pull them apart, lay the parts out according to one of the exploded views. You will find that gear, just be ready for parts to fall out and take care where they came from. If the armature is available it may still not be an economical fix. You may be better searching a dealer who has a current one on offer.
