Powershot 8000 takes 2 or 3 pushes on the handle to fire a staple. Can the stapler be oiled? It's about 15 yrs old. If I haven't used it for awhile, it works ok for a while.

Many nailers and staplers have a safety device that prevents firing unless the tool is pressed against the workpiece - to prevent them being fired like a weapon. The safety lockout is necessarily compact but is often badly designed and cheaply made and seem almost to be added as an afterthought. In my experience, when a stapler becomes cantankerous, moody, hit and miss, it is either an internal break in the power cord or the safety lockout (if fitted). Might be worth checking if Arrow provide a repair or exchange service...

Cal-Hawk 240-3016 Bench Sander. Does anyone have a user manual?

Manuals aren't thick on the ground - a google search provides only vague references, however all is not lost as this type of sander is often a generic type label engineered with only minor variations to reflect a price range. The machines tend to be so similar a manual for almost any brand that looks even vaguely like yours will provide the basic information. The machines are intuitive to use and you shouldn't have any problems and the hardest thing about them is cleaning the disc prior to sticking a new abrasive disc on. They are a very useful machine especially to a woodworker and the disc sander will allow the end grain of timber to be sanded smooth accurately to the desired angle.

How do you turn off water under sink to change reverse osmosis filters? I found the football shaped valve that goes to the hose. I turn the valve and water still runs so what am I doing wrong?

Open the RO tap and drain the RO tank (capture and use later). The tap will run a steady stream until tank empties. When tank empties the steady stream will switch to a drip, drip, drip,... This is normal and is the production output rate of the system.

If you capture the drips into a measured container a typical rate is 1 quart per hour, more or less given input line pressure and condition of system filters. Time how long it takes to capture a cup (8oz) and do the math.

The RO feed line is likely a piercing saddled type valve. It will take several turns (clockwise) to close the valve. Keep turning CW until it stops. With the tank empty (tap will drip, drip, drip,...) close the filter feed line valve and the drip, drip, drip will eventually stop, indicating the system no longer has water pressure.

How do I use the random orbital sander?

Random orbital sander is relatively easy to use and control. You can get a lot of work done using a random orbital sander by spending a little amount of time. But, there are some things that you should keep in mind to get the best use of the sander. In this article, we are going to show you how to use a random orbital sander to its full potential. There are many brands out there in the market right now. Each offers a different style and different controlling functions. But, the core elements of each of them are the same. The random orbital sander gives you the free and easy usability. Plus, the finishing that these sanders provide is unparalleled.

THE USE OF RANDOM ORBITAL SANDER

You can use a random orbital sander to achieve versatile woodworking functions, but mainly it is used to give your material a more smooth texture. Usually, these tools come with a lot of power so you can work on rough materials and get quick results. The design is very compact so that you can work with ease, even with one hand. So, ultimately this is a sander that will give you great power and control in a compact body.

HOW SHOULD YOU DEAL WITH THE TOOL?

Keep the Object Locked Make sure that the object that you are working on is properly locked. Keep it secure, so it does not move too often. This way, you have had more control over the job. USE EVEN STROKES: You should apply even strokes in every part of the object to make sure that they are sand properly. This will result in a smoother finishing to your object. USE VENTILATION IF NEEDED Try to remember this when you use a random orbital sander, keep the ventilation on. It creates dust particle that cannot be easily controlled. So, you should keep your ventilation on to avoid the debris in your mouth. CHOOSE THE RIGHT KIND OF SAND PAPER Different kind of wood respond well to different kind of sandpapers. So, you should look out for what is best for you and then buy your sandpaper accordingly. Make sure to properly place the sandpaper on your sander and that your sander head is clean at the start. DOUBLE SAND THE EDGES: It is always a good idea to double sand the edges if you are looking for perfection. This allows the object to have a more fine tuning and luxurious look.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:

  • Do not change the disk of random orbital sanders very frequently as it will not be cost-effective. Use it until the very end.
  • Do not apply too much pressure while working on the edges
  • Add vacuum if you want to keep your station clean.
  • Sand with a steady hand and turn up the power for rough woods.

Do you need to oil a bostitch 1850BN brad nail gun

All air tools need regular, sparing application of tool oil to maintain the seals and minimize moisture damage. With the tool disconnected from the air line, drip one or two drops of air tool oil -- NOT motor oil or any solvent -- into the air connector. Position the tool so the air connector is up, allowing the oil to run down into the tool.
