Everything works fine with the cover off, but the flame is snuffed out when you put the cover back on.

Straigt up this is not getting the right air to fuel ratio. Check for a filter that is plugged/dirty. Also check where the air intake is in relation to everthing and make sure that none of the parts are bent or distorted in a way that would prevent the air flow from flowing properly.

I have changed the ignitor, the air and fuel

Have you checked the air pressure it should be around 6lbs. to do this is in the back on the filter cover remove plug that is on the left side insert a pressure guage turn on heater and look at guage you can adjust air pressure by turning the slotted screw that is to the right of the guage. If you cant get 6lbs of pressure then check the rotor assy. and check to see if you have any cracks any where on the filter cover.

I have a model RM200T heater I have replaced all

In the back of the heater there should be a screw adjustment which takes a slotted screw driver try turning the screw I believe counter clockwise to lower the flame.

Kerosene Portable Forced Air heater comes on, runs awhile

The unit should have a fuel & air filter. Check that both are clear. Inside the burner tube, there will be a photo-cell, if the lense is dirty it will shut the flame off. The photo-cell needs to see the flame. You can carefully and gently, clean the lens with a tissue, soft cloth, or Q-tip. Please let me know how its coming along.

The heater lights and burns fine then gradually

Hi,
The problem you have is most likely the pump pressure. That is the single most important thing that must be right for these heaters to perform correctly. Here is a tip on how to set the pump ressure correctly.
At the bottom of that tip is a link to another on basic trouble shooting on these heaters.

Fires up for 5 to 10 sec only

photo cell is dirty its alittle sensor thats senses a light of the flame in the combustion chamber.if you take the top cover off and look to where you see a thing that looks like a spark plug right under it or around that area you should see a senser with two wires coming out of it pull it out the bracket that holds it in place and clean the lens with a cloth then put it back and fire it up it should be find if not then the sensor is faulty

I push in pilot switch, hit ignite and pilot will

Three likely possisilities - one is insufficient gas pressure, another is a plugged pilot gas line and the other is that the thermocouple is defective. There are other possible problems, of course, but these are the most likely.
