Denon Televison & Video - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

I have had the same thing happen with my blu-ray. I have tried cleaning the disc; the lens, occasionally with success. flashing the bios. also known as update of the system [can be done online {if equipped} of mine also has a usb port {download the correct file to a USB drive and re-power DVD with the drive in place}]. if these things don't work try manufacturer tech support. I had mine replaced because it wpould NOT flash. good luck.

Appears to be a software problem. Unfortunately, some blu-ray players contain software that expires, requiring you to repurchase newer, more expensive software from the manufacturer in order to continue to play blu-ray discs. Check your software for the player. No freeware blu-ray software out there.

You can use a USB stick for region A, B or C. (1, 2 of 4)

On the USB stick there is one file named autoscript with the following : CLI(CLI_app.homemenu.set_bdreg 4). ,4 you can also use 1 or 2 this depends on the disired region.
Just copy this with textprogram and name the file 'autoscript'

1. Remove any discs from the drive of your player

3. Put the USB stick with the desired bluray region into the player
4. Turn on the player
5. Wait 5 seconds
6. Put the player into standby
7. Wait 10 seconds
8. Remove the USB stick
9. Unplug the mains cable
10. Unit should now be the region you have chosen for bluray
Before you do any firmware update, return to Region B as it may lock the region.hen do the following:

sounds like its stoping during layer switch, if the player is old its needs to be cleaned. its best to clean it once every 20hrs or so. if you do not have a disk cleaner you should go buy one first. if the player is new return it and get the best dvd player you can buy for any amount the toshiba xde. this player is phenomenal, the best you will be amazed. no i dont work for toshiba but ever since they started making hd dvd players(i know they stopped)there players have become the best. trust me if you dont think so just return it. no harm done. if you want a blu-ray get ps3 I dont like them either but i have to admit after buying (for movies only)my third blu-ray player it is by far the best one. almost as good as the toshiba on standard dvd playback but not quite. good luck.

Verify that the disc turns, put it in the tray, observe the position, enter it, wait for the indication of "No Disc" and remove the disc, if it is in the same place, apparently, it would have problems in the disc engine
Another way to check if the engine works, play an audio CD, if you read it, apparently the engine, it would not be the cause of the failure
If I notice that I turn, I could have dirt problems in the lens of the reader, proceed to clean it with a cotton swab and if you do not know how to do it, contact a technical service
Another option, it is possible that your reader is under power to read the DVD

How do I reset my Denon remote?
All the settings are restored to their defaults. Press and hold RC SETUP for more than 3 seconds. "SETUP" and indicator flashes twice on the remote control unit. Use to display "RESET" on the remote control unit and press ENTER

By this time I figure most peoples warranties are expired. So give this a try:

1 Open the case.
2 Turn the unit on and load a disk.
3 On top of the disk transport, you will see a black disk trying to spin as it reads the disk. You might notice that it is a bit quite as the display goes to 00H00M00S. It should be fast and a bit noisy.
4 Try loading a disk again, except this time, try to help that little black disk spin. It might take a couple of attempts, but I was able to get my 2910 working again.

The last year I've had to do this 2-3 times. But it works. From what little I have read, it may just be an issue with lubricating the right part with the right oil. I've narrowed my choices to PTFE 3n1 oil, Lithium oil, or silicone oil.

now I just need to find the right places to oil.

There should be quite a bit of noise and speed

If you have the Audyssey set up mic, plug it in and follow the on screen instructions. Or try installing the Denon AVR remote app.

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.
