I have a 2010 GMC
Take it to a specialized car audio shop, they will be more than happy to fix that for you.
You can't do it because it requires a special program to access the firmware options.
It says reading disk and that is as far as it will go.
the unit is trying to read the disc. when it cant do this as a security feature so the disc is not jammed in the unit it discharges it. the reason is a dirty laser or bad disc. as im sure you have tried several disc then i would move to the last stage or repair you need to get the lazer clean there are two ways to do this send it into the shop for a servcie pro to take the unit apart and clean the lazer. but in most cases its just a little dust on the laser lens that can be removed using a laser disc cleaner you can buy them at most electronics shops that sell electronic equipment such as tvs dvds etc. they range from $5 to $40. purchase one and run it through you dvd player several times and you should be right back on track..
best of luck to you.
I have a Delphi 28032959
If contacts and ribbon cable have been cleaned, all cables are in good condition and are secured properly so no condensation can get into the connections, then you may be getting overheated internal capacitors due to lack of ventillation. You can look and see if there are any swelled up capacitors or other components and check circuit board for burn marks
Can i buy one?
If you really want to. I think these are stock in newer GM's cars and trucks, you can definitly find better.
Cannot eject upside down DVD
There should be a small hole somewhere in the front of the player on or very close to the door. This is an "emergency" door latch.
If you straighten out a paper clip, you can (WITH THE POWER OFF) insert the end of the paper clip into the hole. Just inside the hole, you will feel the clip stop (about 1/2 inch). press slightly on the paper clip, and you will over ride the door latch.
If you have any doubts about doing this, contact the manufacturer first.
