Check both the power and data cables. Disconnect and reconnect them several times to polish the contacts. If that doesn't solve the problem, then you'll have to replace the drive.

Suddenly my screen turned red and green with vertical lines all over.

Sorry but there is no easy way to find out except by parts swapping. It could be the Screen, the connecting cable, or the graphics card (which on most laptops is actually part of the motherboard so not separately replaceable). If you can connect it to an external monitor or TV screen then that might eliminate the motherboard.

I have a dell vostro

Dell site should have info regarding the removal of old drive. Then install new drive in its place and install the recovery disks that you got or made. Hopefully the new drive will come with the software to prepare the drive for loading although some of the newer OS disks will do it for you.

How do I fix itunes unknown error (-50) on a dell vostro 1510 with windows 95?

Are you posting questions just to be a pain? The Dell Vostros 1510 was released in 2008, it was never designed for Windows 95 and I seriously doubt they would have created W95 drivers for the hardware. Dell Vostro 1510 Review NotebookReview com The new iTunes is not 10.6.3, that was released in 2012 Apple releases iTunes 10 6 3 and even if it was, iTunes was never released for W95, the first Windows OS it supported was Windows 2000 History of iTunes

I have a DELL Vostro

Certain models talk to a chip in the adapter, sounds like this one has gone bad. At this point you can live with, buy a new one or pick up a used. This is a fairly popular model and you should be able to locate one from a dead laptop.

Hello,

from recent experience , it is the graphic card that has failed I had a problem of the 2 screens suddenly going and then coming back on and a message the the nvidia kernal 387. suffered a fault recovered fully but the second screen never came back the same as screen 1 After I removed the card to fit a new card , that unfortunately had a different connection and therefore wouldn't connect a monitor , the computer would turn on a green light but would not turn on the system fans and all I built a new mother board and the same thing--green light and nothing I read forums and picked up this information. The computer in doing a hardware check before it goes to BIOS found a problem and stopped the advice was to remove all hardware then insert a bit at a time until the problem surfaced I fitted a ram card and the fans started installed a monitor of the motherboard gva socket and it lit up installed the graphics card with the vga connected to a monitor and it lit up connected the second monitor and back to square one end result , the original mother board is functional, the graphic card is stuffed yours is probably the same

Bluetooth & sound

Generally, connecting phones via bluetooth to a laptop just allows for file transfer between the two devices. It is not to input sound from the phone through the speakers of the laptop. You would need a bluetooth audio device for that such as bluetooth speakers or headphones

I want to run 3 monitors on my dell vostro

Hi,

Couple of points I’d like to mention. Vostro has two models slim and mini tower. Both of them are mostly similar so this should be applicable for whichever you have.

The default graphics card on the computer is integrated on the motherboard. When you add another video card, say to the PCI-Express 16x slot on the motherboard, this disables the integrated video card.

If the 2 monitors are connected to the video card, both would get display.
When the computer is turned ON, if you plug in the 3rd monitor to the integrated video card, you would not get any display on the 3rd monitor. BUT if you restart the computer with the 3rd monitor plugged in, the computer would give a signal to the 3rd monitor and disable the two monitors connected to the video card. This feature is added on purpose to diagnose any possible video card problems. Eg. Assuming there was a problem with the video card, if this feature were not available you would not get any display on the monitor from any of the ports and you would not be able to diagnose if the problem was with the monitor, integrated video or the video card.

Hope this helps. Please rate your feedback!
Thanks,
VJ
