Can I charge my PP39L laptop with a USB cable?
the only thing to be aware of is the voltage cannot exceed that required for the laptop . for example if the solar panel puts out 12 volts you will need an adaptor before the usb connection to reduce the power to the voltage for the laptop
Dell studio 1749 battery indicator led 3 white flashes
Hi Chris,
There is a possibility that the battery is on the verge of failing. Request you to try following the below steps which might help:
(1)You may try running an online diagnostics using the below link:
http://dell.to/189uUNy
Click battery life and run diagnostics.
Make a note of the error codes that appear (if any).
(2)Try using a known good battery and see if that makes a difference. Also let me know what code appears when just the AC Adaptor is plugged in.
Thanks and Regards.
Kiran Kumar.

I forgot my login administrator password for my dell xps window 7
Anonymous,
If you forget the administrator password and don't have a password reset disk or another administrator account, you won't be able to reset the password. If there are no other user accounts on the computer, you won't be able to log on to Windows and will need to re-install Windows.
Thank You,

Hi my 17" dell laptop model no:pp31l has stopped working it just says bootmgr is missing
This could be due to a CD or DVD left inside the DVD drive. The laptop may be trying to boot from that instead of the hard disk. Make sure no USB flash drives or CD/DVDs are left connected/inserted. If the laptop is trying to boot from the hard disk then the files on the hard disk may be corrupted. This is hard to correct without risking loss of your data. Try running the diagnostics by pressing the 'Fn' key (keep it pressed) and press the power button to turn the laptop on. You should be able to access the diagnostics from there.
Why doesnt my compter get past the booting screen?
Early in the post stage, bad ram or failing hard drive.
Do all the following with the PC unplugged:
Remove cables from Hard drive - pay attention to where the go back, turn on pc and see if it goes further (if it does, you probably have a failing hdd and should seek professional help immediately. Don't keep trying it, else you lose everything for sure.
If that doesn't work, plug the hdd back in and again with power UNPLUGGED, remove one of the ram sticks. Turn pc on.
If works, you have a bad stick or slot, if still nothing, put ram back in and take out next stick. Repeat until you find the problem.
HOW TO GET A CD OUT OF STUDIO 1735 WITH A SLOT
there is a button on the F keys, the top row, it looks like a triagle on top of a line press it and it should eject the disk, if this does not work or you cant find it, go to My Computer and when you see the icon of the disk, right click and click eject on the menu.
How to factory reset my studio dell computer it shows STatus:oxcoooooof?
You need to find the right F key (typically F2 or F8 or F12) to open the boot menu. Start pounding on one while booting until you find it. You may have to try all 12 F keys. Once you get the boot menu (not the BIOS menu), there should be an option to boot Windows, Safe Mode, Restore to a previous check point, or recover to factory settings. If this does not work, you will need to get the Recovery CD set from Dell for your model. Be warned this destroys all old data files.
