Cannot log in, repeated message "User Profile" problem
You need a system repair disk so that you can boot up to a dos command prompt. Sometimes you might be able to get a command prompt from booting up in Safe Mode. Windows 8 and 10 have a startup repair that will allow you to get to a command prompt in the advanced options of the startup repair options. If you can get to a dos command prompt there is an hidden administrator account on all computers just for when a problem like this happens. You need to make the hidden administrator account active then you can sign on with it and go into the control panel and create a new user account with administrative rights (or as an administrator). You can then copy all your data from your old user account to the new user account that you created. You might get a message such as "you don't have permission to this account or folder'" when you try to copy you data from one to the other, just click ok and it will allow you to have permission. To activate the administrator account just type this at the dos command: net user administrator /active:yes (when you are done you just change yes to no and the account will be hidden again) but you can always leave it active.
Enable the Hidden Administrator Account on Windows 7 8 or 10

I know how to use system restore, but if fails.
if you like the laptop soo much if you want you go to e-bay and look for the same laptop that would use YOUR RECOVERY CD.
the laptop don't have to be perfect you can use the one you have for parts, one of the main thing is you'll have your hard drive and memory card. [REMINDER] make sure if you decide to do the project to have a mini set of screw drivers and a small magnet to keep screws together and a work place.

Please restart your machine and keep tapping F12 key from the keyboard
It will display a menu with options
Press enter on DIAGNOSTICS option
Let's confirm if the hard-drive is not gone bad
It will confirm if all tests are passed, you don't necessarily need to run the extended memory tests
Or you can also check in F2 menu (BIOS menu) during reboot
if the Hard-drive/SSD is detected on your XPS 13 notebook
Try to load BIOS defaults too.
Please reply back with the results.

"operation system not fount" after pressing the start button
Turn it off. Symptoms suggest hard drive failure. Use of s taking a physical battering. This may damage data beyond recovery. The drive Take it to a shop. Your other choice: Oddly, freezing the hard drive sometimess temporaily fixes the drive long enough to recover data. Replacement of the hard drive is the likely fix. Unless you want to try to freeze the HD and copy data off of it quickly, only a shop specializing in data recovery might recover such. Hopefully youhave backed up data to another drive. You might want to consider a new laptop, after you eye the possible cost of repair and/or data recovery.

Here we go.My backup to D drive crashes after
As with most Backups, the method and software doing the backup are key.
Backups will not function if you are trying to back up open files or programs; unless Volume Shadow Copies is turned on, and your Backup Software can backup from those.
Another hurdle could be that you have decided to backup files that are locked by Windows as long as you are logged in to your Profile. A reboot and log in as Administrator would free up those locks,
Can you help us understand what you are backing up with and which files?
