Turn breaker off and on control may reset and work if not
you need control witch is not available
option 1 we can do upgrade to covert control to newer dacor system
cost is around $1400 can if you are in our service area
option 2 other than that you can have control sent out for rebuild they can not always repair
option 3 call dacor they may offer you a discount on new range as parts are no longer available
good luck hope breaker reset works
two Phillips screws under side of raised vent removes top complete then switch has plastic piece that slides out with control be careful wires are short and very small easy to break
you will most likely have to change keyboard and buttons

I have a G.E. natural gas cook top. All 4 burners have a lot of yellow flame all of a sudden. Is there an adjustment for this I could make? Please explain the best you can.
Ya know... J Muehl,
There's always a better way...
That's the fun of procrastination... but
there are also kind folks that want to sell parts...
I'm looking at you part... it shows a SPRING that
is completely consistent with re-installing it as you
describe (simple push in (unless you fubar'd it
yanking it out... (Approx $28... see below))
In pursuit of that AUGUST goal they provide video support...
Looks like endless hours of entertainment...
They don't like your model number...
14 others to choose from.
Well... Californi543,
That certainly takes all the fun out of
PROVIDING totally FREE advice...
(152,000 times for nary a cent).
Do us all a FAVOR... Immediately call the ## on the
back of your VISA and report the *****...
Then... do the responsible thing and complete
a POLICE REPORT.
Even is a underpaid... vigorously abused POLICE FORCE
like OAKLAND... our (unappreciated) heroes in Blue still appreciate a CITIZENS effort to help enforce the law...
A caller ID or a little VISA cooperation maybe all it
takes to end a serious crime spree...
But even VISA can't be tossing CREDIT CARD
information around without a POLICE REPORT...
So yes... THE BALANCE of RIGHTEOUSNESS stands on your action...
Please do follow through.

Hello Laura Crupi,
Not finding Dacor parts in the usual places
(pretty appliance though)...
it looks to be called a "butterfly" element.
I will post a VIDEO that shows how to test it
for continuity...
I HAVE not found anything that shows if it wires
or PLUGS IN... so I will say now... If you disconnect any
wire... for any reason... MAKE SURE YOU PUT AN
ALIGATOR CLIP on it before letting go...
One of the biggest known OVEN REPAIR issues:
LOOSE WIRES retreat back inside the OVEN SHELL...
THEN the ENTIRE OVEN has to be taken apart to
fish that wire back trough the right hole...
Just don't let ANY WIRES get loose.
Alligator clips... hemostats.. & Bell System 419A
test clips can all save an entire afternoon of grief.
(((seriously))).

Normally I don't recommend SEARS... but your pictures & prices vary wildly... Nevermind ... $156

RKLentz11,
TYPICALLY for safety reasons... Hot surface ignitions will only attempt to light a FEW times and then locks out...
As you already know these things have EXPLOSIVE CAPABILITIES...
TECHNICALLY you can USUALLY reset the gas flow
by cutting the power and restoring power...
IT IS AN EXTREMELY UNWISE thing to do without
placing a NEW... WORKING hot surface igniter...
The hot surface should be GLOWING before the
gas starts...
Do yourself a favor and forget about touching it to
see if it is warm... even BROKEN it has line current
flowing to it and EVERYTHING around it is grounded...
((read PAINFUL at best)).

Could be as simple as dirty burners. Take them off and you should be able to clean them out. Do that before calling a repair man. Otherwise you may have other problems. Make sure the burners are all put in the place they are suppose to be.
get then from an accredited gas fitter shop and have them fit the jets as there is a requirement to change the position of the air shrouds to maintain the correct air / gas ratio for clean efficient burn
If you do it yourself , you are in breach of gas regulations and you will end up with yellow flames and soot on the cooking utensils
talk this over with an accredited electrician or an appliance repair shop
It may be possible but the modifications may amount to more than a new stove is worth
