I would send it of to fix, playing with compressed gas is dangerous, sound like a seal my have corroded.

It is considered advisable to photograph each step when dis-assembling any mechanism. Have you contacted the mfr, or looked on their website for a service manual ?

They are only 15 dollars to buy new. With that in mind you could attempt to rebuild it but you need at least a micrometer to measure clearances. The pictures that I am looking at show a fiber retainer and a washer seal unit. You need to see if you can get those parts individually. The fiber washer may soften if you wet it and this would make it easier to insert it because the edge of the case appears tapered. However if you do that you need to be able to dry it in its original dimension.

not at all. the Benjamin has a pump handle like the rack of a shot gun below the barrel. the Crossman 3100 the barrel is what you **** the round in with. the Benjamin shoots pellets and bb's the Crosman only shoots bb's

I have the same issue with the same competition air rifle. Not sure if the seals are just dried out or if they need to be replaced. I did apply some pellgun oil two days ago and have made a point to shoot 20-30 rounds through it the last couple days and that seems to have helped but it's still losing air over night...20-30% I'm hoping that shooting it will help the lubrication to eventually migrate to the seals and possibly rejuvenate them but it's too early to tell. I also have a email into Crosman as well. BTW I've stored mine fully charged overnight for a couple years and never had a leak so I don't think it's a design issue but more a non use issue...they do need to be used now and then.
