The thing to do is look inside the unit and check the power supply. It could have just blown an internal fuse.

There should be a speed control switch in the upper right side near the arm. I found a CR-48 manual with a picture at page 4 at the link shown. That should be similar to the CR-47 Crosley CR 48 Instruction Manual Control Locators Getting Started

Inside the unit probably is a small rubber belt which will operate the draw, it has possibly fell off or snapped. It will just need to be replaced. Look on e-bay for a replacement belt. You can get loads of different sizes cheap from China.

Check to see if there is a switch setting for 7", 10", and 12" records. Sounds like a switch setting to me. Does it always pick up at the same physical location on any record? If so, that is the likely cause. Personally, if you have an extensive collection of vinyl, a Crosley is definitely NOT the best turntable to be playing them on. You'd get way better fidelity and save your records from physical groove damage by investing in a better turntable. If you want the collection to stay in good shape and retain their value, ditch the Crosley ASAP.
