My Compaq Presario CQ56 has calculator that keeps popping up when I press the arrow keys or the numerical keys. Please help!!
Well what I really wanted to know the most is if it pops up while you\'re not even touching your mouse or keyboard...If you changed your .exe to .com like I said and it came back, then it\'s normal... ... Just delete the calc.com file. Don\'t worry, calc.exe came back on its own so the calc.com we made is now useless. That\'s why you can now delete calc.com. It\'s also just to reset what was in your old calc.exe, in case it has a keyboard shortcut and other hidden stuff integrated.Still gotta make sure though... Can you right-click on calc.exe and choose "Properties" to see if there\'s any keyboard shortcut? The field (shortcut key) should be left blank in case there\'s something in there. Or to "None".IF the calc.exe still pops up while you\'re not doing anything, then it\'s time for some hijackthis.Get it here:

Load needed DLLs for kernel
The DLL's are on the install media. You can Google each DLL, but sometimes that is risky as they may be infected. You can usually copy the correct version from a second computer. This process can take a long time depending on how many you are missing.
THE NUMBERS DONT WORK
Hello,
Press Fn + Num Lock/Lk
If the above doesn't, it means your keyboard is defective and needs to be replaced. To confirm this, connect an external usb keyboard to your computer and if it works, then of a truth, your keyboard needs to be replace.
Good luck.
Accidentally deleted recovery partition and need to run a recovery/repair. No recovery discs. What do I do?
I ran into the same problem with a friends Hewlett-Packard laptop that was 6 years old. Problem is the manufacturers only retain Recovery Discs now for 3 years. I found a company located in England that has been authorized by Microsoft to issue "Original" software discs paired to your paticular machine using your "Service Tag" information from your machine. The company website is as follows:
https://zoftar.com/
I downloaded the OS and driver discs from the internet to make recovery copies for the laptop which was cheaper than getting discs from the company, which is also an option. The downloads I purchased was approximately $45.00 US and was worth every penny of it . Hope this helps!

Error 0x400110020000100A after hard drive replacement
One of your self-created disks may have an error. I recommend that you contact the manufacturer of your computer to obtain system reload/restore disks directly from them. Often, depending on manufacturer, these are free or very low cost, such as cost+shipping ~$15-$25.
