Clean the ground of any rocks, logs or big sticks. Open the stuff sack and pull out all of the contents. Pull the poles out of their pole bag and set them aside. Remove the tent stakes and set them next to the tent.
  • 2 Lay out the tent poles and assemble them. Push the rod blanks together to make the tent poles that will support the mesh tent body.
  • 3 Unroll the mesh tent over the cleared ground. Take care not to step on or walk on the mesh panels. Avoid sticks and snags, as the mesh rips easier than nylon tent fabric.
  • 4 Clip the Timbertop tent pole clips to the poles. There are no tent pole sleeves because Timbertop uses external pole clips for its mesh tents. Criss-cross the tent poles and push the tent pole tips into the metal holes at the end of the pole clip lines. The mesh tent will now be standing upright.
  • 5 Place one tent stake into the ground and through a pole strap stake hole. Pull the tent out as you insert the stake to keep the mesh panels tight. Stake down each pole strap around the perimeter of the tent. Unzip the doors to enter the tent. Zip up the doors quickly after entry to keep bugs and insects out of the tent.

My Coleman has the same problem. I can crank the top up but it will not hold in place.

I just leave the crank handle in place after raising the top and secure the handle to the bumper with a bungee cord. It's jury rigged but it works great.

There is generally a water pump fitted. In the early days of campers the water had to be pumped manually by either a foot or a hand pump and later people grew lazy and so electric pumps were fitted. At first these were controlled by a switch or button close by each faucet and needed to be held pushed in for water to flow - for obvious reasons the flow stopped when the button was released. Later people grew impatient as well as lazy and also tended to be slightly wealthier and liked to take a shower so the system was automated. The electric pump was integrated with a water pressure switch so when a faucet is turned on the water pressure fell and turned on the pump and when the faucet was turned off a significant pressure would build in the pipework, sufficient to cause the pressure switch to turn off the pump. The scope of the equipment varies a great deal depending on the amount of water carried, the size of the camper, the hot water system and the price range and could be anything from a single submerged pump to a multipump system to provide a luxury shower. I suggest you obtain a manual or owner's handbook in order to discover the equipment fitted to your camper and how to operate/troubleshoot it. Such information is of particular importance if the camper will encounter freezing temperatures during the winter lay over. Failure to winterise properly can cause a great deal of expensive damage.
