My cavalry 1 tb ext
Could be a power issue at the USB port Try another USB port, also disconnect any other USB devices and try again
Constant beeping from Cavalry external HD
Can't say exactly what it means technically speaking, but my experience with such a problem is that the drive is 'dead'. Of course trying it on another computer would be constructive.
My Cavalry 1TB USB 2.0
Hey Jeff,
Sounds like this is something with info you need to keep..Keeping/securing/BACKING UP your data is your priority!! Personally, I would find a QUALITY (ASK a lot of questions.. can they guarantee their work,,- and NOT LOSE your data..!!) .. skip the geek squad - .. computer repair shop..(or some 10 year old).. I would first see if they could copy this drive to another drive (solid state) so you will not lose your data... we are at 4.0 with USB now... 2.0 is becoming the "floppy" of today..I have 3.0 drives and feel left out.. again.. securing/copying/backing up your data is paramount.. Good luck,,,
My black calvary external hard drive won't turn on.
Would be great if the next time you also place the model number, because Cavalry makes dozens of different drives.
When the bleu light does not go on, you have to assume the drive is not getting power.
If the drive has only one cable, (small drives like 2,5 inch most of the time only have one cable) it could be the USB cable is defect and can't give through the 5 Volt coming from the computer USB connector. It also could be the 5 Volt supposed to be in the computer has gone.
If you have to connect an external power supply, with a small cable to the drive, I would check the power supply. A 5 Volt 2 A supply, with the round plug can't be that expensive.
If both don't work, it also could be inside the housing of the drive is something defect.
If you need to have the data on the drive, you always could but an universal USB connection for hard drives. I have one for IDE and E-SATA, in the box came a set power cables and a power supply, but that one was almost 50 dollar. There are cheaper ones on the net.
Be aware drives don't live forever and make sure you always have at least two backups. (that is more than one origin; and one back up)

Try a download from the manufacturer's websitehttp://www.cavalrystorage.com/download.aspx
Solid red light. Does not show up on my
Dose it show up as drive letter E:/ underdevice manager in disk drives?(Check out:right clicking my computer icon onyour desktop, select disk manager)
If so,try right clicking on my computer and selecting map network drive.(You'llget the same results by right clicking on network neighborhood icon on yourdesktop and selecting map network drive.)This is the method many people use toassign a drive name (i.e.,letter) to a drive.
How about asking you to format it before you can use it?Then you can
recover data from hard drive with
datarecovery software like Tenorshare Data Recovery. It can recover data afterdeeply scanning your hard drive to look for lost data.
