fax board communication error try turning off copier then unplug it for 5 min turn on if code comes back it designates a problem with your fax board.

Even though the power is off, if the power cord is connected there is power going through the power supply.. What you are smelling is most likely the filter capacitors getting ready to fail

The "inner cover" can be seen if you open the paper output door, which you have to do to open the "printer cover" to get inside the machine and install the ink cartridges. The inner cover is a black bar right inside here. Push it up firmly enough , and it will snap up.

The error 22552 means that the computer has lost its connections with the printer so you have to check first if the connections are right before replacing any of the machines,you may have missed something in between

The setting and password are stored in two files on the internal flashdrive. To reset the device, the two file have to be deleteted or renamed. The Canon ScanFront 220 has a more or less normal PC mainbord with AMI-Bios.To boot from a USB-Stick, connect a keyboard and press del while starting. You get access to the bios settings. Change the boot order to USB-hdd.As a bootable USB-stick, I used an old 4GB stick, formated with fat32, made it bootable with https://rufus.ie/ and https://www.freedos.org/.
