First you should check for physical damage from being dropped, etc. Does the flash pop up and latch back in place as it should? If the camera body and flash mechanism appear to be undamaged, you should check your batteries. Replace all the batteries with brand new of the same type. Don't mix alkaline batteries with rechargeable ones - EVER. Good luck!

Canon PowerShot SX150 IS Getting Started

This is an OLD camera that uses CF cards - the earliest type of card storage. I have provided a link to the manual for the camera - it is considered as Powershot S20 based on your PC1002 number. On page 21 of the manual (page 24 of the pdf) there is a table listing the compatible cards. Some batteries, although the correct nominal voltage for the camera, are not powerful enough for continued use. I have found the best solution is to use rechargeable NiMH batteries of at least 2100 MaH, preferably 2500 MaH.

Can you access the images on your computer ? If you can, then the fault lies in the camera. If you cannot, then the card may have become corrupted and you will have to rely on your backup copies.

On an SD card there is a switch at the side which can be moved to protect the card contents (locked) or permit writing to the card (unlocked). Just move this to the unlocked position. If these images have been locked via the camera menu system, just go to the relevant area and unprotect them,
