the first 2 letters are not part box the serial number....just enter the numbers only

The gears in the lens cover mechanism in these cameras are susceptible to debris. This requires disassembling the camera to repair. This can be done fairly inexpensively. However, it's not really a user serviceable problem due to the fact that the front case will need to be removed and the lens blind mechanism disassembled to remove the debris and should be done by a qualified service technician.

I have the same problem with my Canon Vixia HF R20 and I'm using a Lexar Pro 64Gb 133x SDXC card. When I try to initialize the card, its fails and says Process Terminated. The write-protect is off. The older class 4 SDHC card I've tried seems to work ok, which is a SanDisk 4Gb.

There is a small slide switch along the edge of the memory card that locks the card. be sure it is in the unlocked position. If you still get the "Locked" error message then the problem is in the cameras card reader. This can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.
