Normally that amount of ice denotes a leak in the system, or possibly the thermostat not switching off. If the door does not seal correctly, you will also generate a lot of ice. Something tells me we are looking at a leak.

it is telling you your freezer isnt cold enough

Defrost timers usually cause this type of frost build up. However it can also be caused by the defrost heater and/or heater thermostat, and these items are behind the panels therefore not easy to get to. Also before you attempt to take the panels apart make sure the refrigerator is unplugged.

if its running all the time there is a system fault it strugles to pump gas. you will need a system tech to repair this. if it has r12 on the label afraid to say it is then scrap

you do not leave them alone they may have refrigerant flowing through them. look in your owners manual/instructions for more info.

Also an refrigeration appliance technician would know the wiring by heart and take 20 minutes maximum to work it out.

Question edited to add maker! All questions need 'make model (what it is) as first three words. That is an overheating fault. Replace the fluff with no fluff. Make sure the condenser coils are free of dust and there is good airflow Or It is low on refrigerant gas and you need a service tech.. ..
