Cambridge azur 640-t tuner has stopped working - panel lights up but no stations showing. What do you think the problem might be?

If a incorrect button is pushed, like tape monitor, the tuner will shut off. Check all the setting

I NEED SCHEMATICS FOR cAMBRIDGE MODEL SOUNDWORKS SLIM 500 - VOLUME CONTROL

There is a youtube video of a repair being done on a CSW unit like that. The video does not show a lot of details. I repair stereo systems and the volume control can be replaced. The problem with them is the lubrication inside the actual potentiometer gets dirty and sticky. The units I looked at to find yours say that it has a BASH module. If that is the case then it is associated with Klipsch. Finding a schematic is very difficult and if you could post a picture it may help

Can I hook my smartphone up to Cambridge fourpointsurroundfps1800

If they both have USB sockets I would say yes! It's just a question of getting a cable that will fit both types of connection. Phones tend to have the smaller USB type and big amps the larger ones.

Cambridge Audio Azur 640R AV Recorder won't switch off

Sounds like the unit is victim of a power surge. The power control board is probably damaged. You will be better off replacing the amp as having it repaired will cost more than replacing it.

Please note that you volume control increases in a logarithmic scale, in simple words it increases in a doubling scale eg: 2,4,8,16,32,64------------. So if your half volume is 16watts per channel the next increase is 32 and the next 64 so on. So don't be surprised if after half volume it suddenly starts getting very loud. There is nothing you can do about it.

Unless you are an experienced tech, you should let a pro look at this unit. It may be a mechanical fault, or a logic control problem. Cambridge makes excellent sounding CD players, so I think they warrant spending money to repair them properly. Attempts by inexperienced owners can greatly increase the repair cost.

Protection overload and the system shuts off

Reasons: 1. Short in the wire, speaker, or amplifier 2. Amplifier malfunction 3. Overload of the amplifier 4. Overload of the speaker
Listening to audio at loud levels requires more power obviously. But the speakers and amplifier may not be rated or capable to handle it due to age or design.

I have an onkyo tx-sv444 receiver that the word

When the word protect shows up it means trouble. The circuit that shows the warning and shuts the unit from working has detected a short somewhere in the unit. More than likely one of the output transistors but not always. Have you had a power failure lately? Lightning strike? Power bump? If so the problem could be in the Low Voltage power supply. First unplug the unit. Take the bottom off if it has a panel which can be removed separate from the complete bottom. Under the panel should be the output transistors. Check to see if any are shorted with a DMM. If you find any they will need to be replaced. If you do not find any you will probably need a competent tech to troubleshoot the unit. Let me know if you need anymore help.

Protection overload and the system shuts off

check your speaker wires for short, try to turn it on without speakers connected, if all connections and speakers seem ok the problem is internal witch can go from blown power supply to shorted output devices and everything in between , and as always look for repair shop in your area, do not attempt to do it yourself, fire hazard and electric shock are the things we all want to avoid ;)
