Russian women, even simple women, used to have many different national outfits.
They especially loved headscarfs and hats - simple, for every day, and festive, embroidered with beads, decorated with gems.
The national costume, its cut and ornament were influenced by such factors as geographic location, climate, main occupations in this region.
The more closely you study the Russian folk costume as a work of art, the more you find values in it, and it becomes a figurative chronicle of the life of their ancestors, which in the language of color, shape, ornamentation reveals to us many intimate secrets and laws of the beauty of folk art.

Did you check the metal pin and spring terminals the batteries sit between? If a battery powered toy is stored with the batteries still in the terminals can corrode and block the electrical current from the batteries. Try cleaning the terminals with a cotton bud and Very Fine sand paper. A cardboard nail file works well for this.

That appears to be part of a toy train set so I moved it from the Motorcycles category :>)
