Panasonic TC-P50u50 went out. Is it the power supply or something else
Something short circuit in the SMPS [power] section circuit, and the pop you heard might be of a blow out fuse. It will be best to contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the sites linked here.

Could it be the tcon board?
I think that the Tcon board with what you are talking about for your TV could be not working and needs to be replaced. It would be more cheaper to buy a new TV than to try and fix the TV that you have that is not working.
I have a un60j6200af tvAnd still do not have a picture or sound
I have no idea why you would change the tcon board if you don't have sound but your not the first person to do that. 1st thing to do...power the set on and look at the back and see if the optical output plug is lit red, if it is your power supply is working. If it's not check the 5 volt standby, if no voltage there replace the power board, if you see 5 volts and have no action it could be connectors or plugs in the LED circuit, did your old led strips test bad?
My Vizio M75-E1 appears to be in bootloop. Can it be fixed?
Boot log is stored in the EEPROM on the main board, you should be able to get a new one for $15 from shopjimmy but it's not an easy job to replace, very small SMD, if you have the equipment and knowledge to replace it that's the cheap way to get the job done. The other option is replace the main board
Sharp lc-26d40u No picture
I have a Sharp Aquos LC-40E77UN with the same issue, and have tracked down a single burned capacitor at C7816 on the power supply board, and am looking for info on the capacitor in order to replace it. (Power supply: RDENCA354WJQZ / Delta DPS 208BPA). - Any help with a schematic would be appreciated!)Since you say the picture went out, it is possible that you might have the same problem, Bad/failed/leaking capacitors are, unfortunately, quite common in electronics. There are volumes of info available on the subject.Replacement power boards can also be purchased. One for my TV runs about $60 to $120 depending on used or new. Since I was able to see a good picture on mine for a few seconds, despite the burnt out capacitor, I'm opting to try and find/replace the cap myself (using the proper safety procedures), or at worst, have a repair done to the power supply.Backlights should typically last around 60,000 hours.
