I was having the same issue with a Samsung 4053 40"

Comcrap had no clue.

Their phone rep suggested I come in and trade out the remote. That seemed unlikely if others are having the same experience. It is also unlikely a phone rep would have any answer other than what on the web page.

I used 5 digit code "10060" and it worked got the double flag from the remote like Comcast's documentation says. It turns TV on and off and works volume. So far so good.

The key to figuring it out was getting the double flash on the remote 4 digits didn't 5 did.

The moral of our story? Comcast has no clue what they push out the door. I guess that isn't a surprise to anyone.

If a Red LED is blinking or flickering on the TV then it means that your TV has had detected that there is either an issue or a problem then. Usually red LED blinks will need to be required services then and will have to be fixed also too.

The fix might be cheap, or it might be expensive. I've gotten two older LCD tvs that did something similar. Both were a common problem with the model and make. They both needed a small capacitor replaced on the main board. The one that needed replacing had burst, and it simply had to be soldered out, and a new one put in. Worked easy, but you need to be comfortable taking the TV apart to find out. Generally by control board, the power light blink number is part of a diagnostic for a repair person. you might be able to type the specifics into Google , model, number of blinks, what color... and find the issue. If it is a power supply, it might be a 50-80$ part. If it is a capacitor, probably would cost less than $5 with shipping from Ebay. Get the info together and call a local repair shop, as long as the screen isn't damaged, it's probably cheaper than buying another one.

You can reset and eliminate the lock on some televisions without the remote, using a few tactics. Hold the power button for five seconds. The television will automatically restart.

I have a Pioneer PDP-LX5090, Kuro Flatscreen TV, connected via HDMI4 on a Pioneer AV-receiver VSX-LX60.
By connection a Chrome cast on one of the HDMI ports of the AV-receiver I got the same CEC100 error with the same message "device cannot be operated. please check the connection". By disconnection the Chromecast from the USB current feed, the problem dissapeared. Hope this can help you.

I don't have the original control remote for Apex Ad-1201 DVD player. I would like to use my Universal Remotes: Radio-shack USA "flag" 4-IN-ONE Remote and / or RCA 312W three component remote. I got the codes from the manuals but my DVD player doesn't work or turn off (only ejecting; open and close) with pause button. Could I get a possible code (s) for these Universal Remotes?
