How can i check a generator on a 67 shovel to see if it's charging properly?
Use a multimeter to measure battery voltage before and after starting. If 6V the battery voltage should rise to around 6.9V after starting, and if 12V the battery voltage should rise to around 13.8V after starting. If less than about 6.5V / 13V, the generator's not charging well enough. If less than about 6V / 12V, or if the battery voltage never rises at all, or frankly falls, after starting, then the generator's not charging at all.
I changed the oil in my 2001 jetta and i put in to much now car doesn't start
You're going to have to drain out the oil and put all fresh oil in. Depending on how much you over filled it, I'm surprised it would turn over at all. When you over fill a motor, you put it into hydrostatic lock. Trying to start it can either burn up your starter motor, or break a number of items inside the motor. The reason I suggest to put in new oil is because the oil you drain out will have particulates in it that it picked up from the motor internals; the oil filter should be fine. Once drained, fill with 3.7 quarts, run it for a couple of minutes, turn it off, let stand for 5 minutes, and then check your oil. Make sure you're on level ground when you do this; and don't take the first read when you pull it out. Pull out the dipstick, clean it, put it back in, pull out and then read it. Hold the stick in a horizontal position when you read it. If low, add a little, wait, check it again, you want it to read in the safe zone marking; the 3.7 without filter should be very close to safe.

Did you also replace the motor? If not, test operation of the motor when the switch is activated. Is the motor getting voltage when you activate the switch? If not, correct the bad wiring condition. If all parts are operating correctly but the window still does not go down, the window has become jammed in its track. (There are no other parts to the power window assembly.)

I have a 1995 mercury marquis and my fuse to my dash and tail lights keep blowing
If the car was never in a flood, or a car wreck, start with the taillights and the wires that attach to them.
Look for a wrong bulb in one of the sockets, a bad socket, or a bare wire or two wires that are touching each other. Follow the wires as far as you can from the taillights toward the front of the car.
Lets hope you find the problem.
If all there is perfect, you might eventually have to trace the wires inside the car from the rear. That can be really tough.
Also look for an improperly installed after-market radio or amplifier in the dash.
Be blessed.
