No updates. It is an old model. Buy a Garmin! Or they will give you a few bucks off for a trade in

We appreciate your interest in updating your Navman device. However, the C40 is one of our old models. We no longer have updates available for it. This is due to the technological advances in mapping data over the past few years. The size of the mapping data is too great to be handled by the older hardware and we are unable to release map upgrades for these devices. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
The best option that we can offer is our trade-in program. You can take a chance to purchase a brand new device at a discounted price with full warranty. These new models will have the latest software and maps. And, most of the new models come with free map updates for Australia and New Zealand. Offline maps are allowed to be able to downloaded on your device's internal storage by default, but you can be able to download them on to an SD card instead. If your device is on Android 6.0 or higher you can only be allowed to save an area to an SD card that is configured for portable storage.

Please make sure your scale is on a stable horizontal surface, free of vibration. My scale's display reads "Out2", what does this mean? Out2 is displayed when too much force (i.e. overload) has affected, and potentially damaged the load cell.

NO manual online. Try pressing and holding buttons. They removing the battery, wait 10 minutes and replace. Perhaps the battery is 'Out 2 Voltage Spec'.

The older Garmin has a Nickel metal hydride battery, and they do deteriorate over time, however, if it works when plugged into the USB port of a computer (5 volts), it should work when plugged into the car charger (12 volts to 5 volts) even if the battery is bad.

As long as you are certain it works fine on the computer, replace the battery for 25 bucks. However, technology has moved on, no more plastic screens and 'Lane Assist' is an absolute godsend!

GE is an app. It is regularly updated. Be sure it is up to date. When your GPS is plugged into a USB port via a standard USB cable it will enter the MASS STORAGE MODE. If GE is installed properly, it will auto recognize the unit and open. Do not use a Garmin cable to plug it in. It will not enter the mass storage mode with that cable.

You will need to go to the Garmin website on your computer or laptop and set up an account. I think the sign up is free. You will then need to connect your Garmin to the computer and update it that way.

1. Satellites are NOT fixed in place.
2. The accuracy is no longer, and has not been for decades, fudged by the military.
3. When they were fudged it was off by many meters.
4. GPS is self calibrating. All the info comes from the satellites.

Unless there is a watch internal fault, a common problem is not being able to see the necessary satellites. This commonly occurs when there are obstructions between the watch and where it looks for the satellites. If it still has a problem when you are out in an area open to all horizons, then it will probably need repairing or replacing. You could also try resetting the watch and reloading the courses (see the Bushnell site).

Disconnecting power then reconnecting could cure it. The nature of the error message could give a clue as to what's wrong.
