The zoom of my Olympus digital camera sz-15 has opened by itself, and I tried to close it unsuccessfully.

Take it to a local camera store for professional repair. Or send it direct to Olympus. Camera repair is very specialized and needs to be done in a 'Clean Room'.

System error (o.i.s)

Hi,

This error is for the optical image stabilisation.

Generally the camera should be ok after your turn it on and off again. The error you are getting is because either the OIS has malfunctioned or is stuck.

I suggest that you take out its memory stick, the battery etc and keep the camera like that for about 15 minutes. Then only reinsert the battery (fully Charged) and try to power on.

Try a little tap ( but not too hard) on the side of the camera....this might realign if the OIS has got misaligned. If you are lucky, you would get if fixed.

If the problem still persists, you need to contact Panasonic.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

DO ACCEPT THE SOLUTION IF 100% SATISFIED.

Kodak easyshare c340 wont turn on

My EasyShare was doing the same thing your post describes, which is how I came to be at this website. I tried the one suggestion of turning on camera (I did so to the 'Auto' setting), then pressing the |O|/i button, which is the button below the 'delete' and above 'menu' next to the screen. That didn't work for me. I then tried the suggestion with the other modes on the power dial, no luck.

I then, from the off position, turned the dial the other way, to the 'favorites' icon, and it worked! I didn't have a memory card in at the time, so it made a noise almost like saying "uh-oh", with the message 'no images in favorites'. I then turned it off, then turned it to 'auto' again, good to go! The lens opened, green light remained on in all modes.

If this helps even one person, I'm glad.

Why does camera close down when I plug USB cable to pc have replaced cable & batteries

As soon as you connect a camera to a computer, the camera shuts down, because it only can act as a "dumb" memory stick. Only more advanced camera's and special programs allow the camera to be connected and be monitored on a computer. Nikon has Camera Control Pro 2 for its DSLRs. Only the software is over 100 dollars. When you have installed Kodak Picture easy software, you can connect the camera to the computer and then after you switch on the camera, you can download the pictures from the camera to the PC.

How do I adjust the grip to hold the camera firmly when I angle it to the side?

There is a release / lock switch. If put to the lock and it does not hold your camera, you should turn the rubbed large column axe to fasten it more (with light cameras you can release it a little) It is the middle section opposed of the trigger knob. 11bdd283-f00d-48bb-8f72-9193a9f70b1e.png

Brand new SD card - says card is full? Nikon D40

I ran into this exact issue (64GB Sandisk SD not working with an old Nikon D40). The problem is that the camera requires FAT32 formatting, which is not supported on partitions greater than 32GB (i.e the 64GB stick). A format from the camera attempts to repartition all device space (64GB) which is incompatible. I solved this by connecting the SD to my laptop, opening the windows disk management utility (diskmgmt.MSC), deleting all partitions on the SD (right-click, delete partition on all allocated space), the right clicking the unallocated space, add simple partition, then allocating only 32GB and using FAT32 as the format (any more and windows will only provide exFAT as an option, also not compatible with Nikon D40). Plugging that into the camera and NOT reformatting from there worked.

Jandy Hi-EC keeps getting 3 flash error. I changed the ignitor and it worked for 1 day. Now its flashing three times again.

Hi, Please check that the transformer wiring is setup as recommended by the manufacturer. And then the incoming power supply needs to be stable as well. If there are any accessible wires, you might use a multimeter to check that there is some type of signal supplied. If the problem persists, you can reach out to Jandy at 800.822.7933 . Thank you.
