BroilKing Grilling - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support
I have a gas leak in my BroilKing Signet grill. I can't seem to remove the regulator hose. Any hints?
I really like the last few years of BroilKing designs. Although you could always pull the side panels off the cart or lift-off the head since the manifold et al is all attached at the head but what I usually do is lie on my back so my shoulders and head are inside the cart. This is not terribly comfortable but I'm not there for more than it takes to unscrew the hose.
Is the leak on the regulator hose?
If you need to locate a leak turn the tank on while the barbecue is off so the manifold and gas lines are pressurized. Remove the control panel so the control valves (behind the knobs) are visible and pour soapy water over all the connections and fittings looking for bubbles blown by the leaking gas.
BBQ won't get hot enough.
I
suspect the problem, is a result of either dirty and/or clogged burners
and venturi valves (part of the burner). Or the grills gas regulator is
partially locked close.
Since the regulator problem does not
involve any real dismantling of the grill, I'll start with that solution
first.
1. Turn the gas valve on the tank OFF. Remove the grill grates and flame tamers, so that you
clearly see all the burners.
2. Disconnect the hose from the tank and wait 5 minutes.
3, Reconnect the hose to the tank and turn the tank valve ON, VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow
Motion, slow).
4. Once he tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn the burner
knob to HIGH. Dose the flame height look correct? If so, light the remaining burners the same
way, until are are lit and burning. Do all the flame heights look correct when set on HIGH? If so,
you solved the problem.
If
the above did not solve the problem, you will need to replace the
grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. You can purchase one from any home
center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories. They run
about $30.00. Take you old one with you for comparison purposes.
Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know and Happy Grilling!!

It may be a case, that the burner orifice for that burner is clogged with shipping debris or something similar. Remove the third burner and inspect the orifice for foreign debris. Also, check the venturi valve on the end of the burner for clogs. Onward Manufacturing, the company that makes Broil King grills is a good company and stands by their product. It appears that the gas
Broil King/Onward manufacturing makes a good grill. For the money, it's one of the best on the market. Consult your Owners Manual as to what the gap should be on the air intake on each burner and adjust it if necessary. Generally, for propane, it's almost wide open. But, check your Owners Manual to be sure. Or call Onward Manufacturing, who makes Broil King, If you live in North America call 800-265-2150. In Canada call 519-885-4540
