Briggs & Stratton 23 HP VANGUARD. The right side runs cold?

Question edited for clarity and make sentences.Question moved form Cars and Trucks to make model category. My guess is you have a leaking valve. The compressed air in the leak down test is closing it. Remove the heads and lap the valves. Check the valve stems are true and not sticking. The variation is compression 50 v 30 is too great.https://www.google.com/search?q=Briggs+%26+Stratton+23+HP+VANGUARD.+right+side+runs+cold..

37 horsepower vanguard voltage regulator what voltage is supposed to go to stator and what voltage should be at the other end while running

Motorcycles are usually fitted with a permanent magnet rotor type alternator that supplies a 3 phase alternating current to a combined rectifier/regulator, the DC output of which should be sufficient to charge the battery and supply enough current to power all the ancillary equipment. A fully charged 12 volt battery in good health has a terminal voltage of 13.2 and the output of the regulator should be in excess of that or half for six volt systems. Some motorcycle systems can be remarkably complex so it is best to use a wiring diagram to aid understanding. Motorcycle batteries won't tolerate a sustained high rate of charge so some systems provide a reduced supply until the headlamp is switched on - just one of the many possible complications that could be encountered with motorcycle electrical systems, ballasted rear lights is another...

I have vanguard 16 hp and just change the oil and both filters oil and air and now just run fine but after like five minutes is very hot

The engine is not getting enough fuel. Lean burn=overhot engine.

Ingersoll 4018

Sounds like the ignition coil is overheating. But make sure there is oil pressure and that there is no restrictions on the fuel line. A lean fuel mixture can also cause it to stop.

Breather blowing oil out

If there is a check valve in the breather it may be stuck. However this is usually indicative of broken rings or burned pistons(piston) . Compression bypasses rings and pistons causing excess crankcase pressure and oil spillage.

I have a briggs 22 hp vertical ohv that is about 6

It will give you a bit more service. However one should also replace bearings in crank and rod. I would purchase a new 6 hp from harbor freight for $100 BUCKS.

Briggs stratton,16 H>P> runs smooth 'til mower is engaged.

Is the choke staying on perhaps? check spark and plug check airflow, get compression test maybe the oil/compression rings giving way... sounds like its getting hot and increasing fuel flow for some reason??? perhaps clean carb with some cleaner while running (remove air cleaner) spray directly into carby while running run at full throttle as you spray it will try and die ... relax on the spraying and see how it goes.. check air cleaner for blockages as the same time :) hope you get it working!
