I have a Briggs & Stratton 5.5 HP quantum engine on my white 21 ton log splitter but cannot find the engine oil plug. Where is it located? Thanks!
The oil plug on the Briggs & Stratton 5.5 HP quantum engine is usually located at the bottom of the engine near the crankcase. It should be a round metal plug with a hexagonal head and a rubber or metal gasket. You may need to use a box or adjustable wrench to remove the plug. Question edited for clarity. Question moved from Hewlett Packard Computers It sounds like you have excessive bore wear and / or broken piston rings and that is causing exhaust gasses to go past the pistons.

Carburetor flooding
Not familiar with this model, but this is exactly how the smaller ones behave when the carburetor diaphragm is shot. Larger engines usually have a float system with needle and seat in which case the problem is either a leaking needle/seat assembly or saturated float.

What are the torque specs on intake manifold on Briggs & stratton
if there is thread locking compound on bolt or threads it must be removed, use a tap to clean the threads and a wire brush to clean the bolts. Use a thread locking compound (blue) when reassembling, torque the bolts to 30 ft. lbs. alternating bolt to bolt in 7-10 lb. increments. Recheck the torque after the engine has been ran up to op temp.

Briggs & Stratton 18 hp twin, Blowing all and gas out carburator vent from engine. Replaced blow my filter still appears to be getting to much gas. Runs and dies afer 5 min
The fuel flow solenoid or needle valve it controls may be bad/need adjusted/need cleaning. If your engine has one, it is on the bottom of the fuel bowl on the carburetor. It will have a wire running to it, and when you turn on the key, it will make a tiny "click". If you take it off and remove the fuel bowl. and clean it, then put it back on, it may solve your problem.
