Bosch HMB 5050/01 Microwave -
I'm assuming this is a built in oven/microwave combination since you mentioned the oven works fine. On a stand alone microwave, we would reset it by unplugging and waiting at least 10 seconds for the microwave to reset itself.
Was the circuit breaker tripped when you reset it? When you reset the circuit breaker, did you wait long enough. Try turning the breaker off, then waiting a couple of minutes before turning it back on. Then give the microwave a try.
Another thing we run into with a built-in is that sometimes there is not enough air circulation. Check to see that the vents are clear and clean.
Good luck! Reply back if this does not solve the problem.
If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Thanks,

Model HMT84M651B/36. Why can't I set time?
On some microwave ovens (GE for one), you press a 'set time' button and rotate the knob to display the current hour then press the 'set time' button again and rotate the knob to set minutes.

Panel light on Bosch microwave out but works fine. I'm just flying blind
I have had sometmes where bad solder connections on the display crystal stopped the display from working. May be worth a look at the connection on the main board where the display crystal is soldered to the board. If not, new main circuit board $$$$. Sharp uses a conductive rubber pad below the crystal to conduct power to the display. It is possible Bosch did something like that too. If so remove the main board, see how the crystal is connected to the board. Clean the rubber conductive pad or look for bad solder connections.
Bosch microwave door sticking
I have the same issue on a later model, and the cam that releases the door is a poor design and only works if well lubricated.
You can lubricate the end of the engagement catches with some silicon oil or similar which worked for mine, although I did disassemble to understand the problem
