Have you tried resetting the Blueant Z9i? You push the Volume Up, Volume Down and Blueant buttons all at the same time (with the device on). This will eliminate all paired phones, then re-pair with just your phone (hold down Blueant button for 6 seconds or so to enter pairing mode).

I reloaded the latest software update on the Headset 3 times (each time it said it had been updated and reloaded) finally the last reload did fix the problem. Unknown to me why this worked this way.

With the BT Interphone that I have (~4yrs), one unit's battery would last <1hr. I carefully cut the rubber case along the bottom mold mark to remove the circuit board. The battery is a 3.7v 600 mah lipo. These are available from a variety of hobby shop sources, but are 650mah. $7-15 ea. Very careful cutting of the rubber case and minimal heat soldering is critical in installing a new cell. I'll use 3m weatherstrip adhesive to close it up. Otherwise a complete new 3rd generation BT set-up is about $90 online. Mine still works good though.
